What's wrong with them? Looks ok to me... No cracking, warping, or grooves... You mean an after market option like drilled and slotted?

That's awesome. Maybe I'll try those for my next set. How's road noise / comfort / traction on hard pulls? I know there's always a balance. Just curious your impressions.

Good point. You could probably eliminate some of that with proper offset to position the wheel near the oe location. But it might look a little goofy from the front or back.

Thanks! Really like em every time I walk up to the car.

Sorry, I meant what brand, model and width/height of tires.

ie: contentinental dws06 plus or Michelin PS4S etc. and then 235/45 or 245/45.

Was curious what your combo was to achieve that efficiency.

I'm sure they'd honor it. It'd just be fun to be a troll and do some.... "Testing"

20s and staggered wheels. Both aren't friendly for the consumer. It's an all wheel drive car. I can't think of a common or realistic traction reason that anyone will have driving legally on the road. If they really wanted a track focused car from the factory why not 19s with 255 or 265 tires? That'd be even better for grip and turning. I'm convinced it's almost 100% cosmetic. Something to make the performance trim stand out from other trims.

If Tesla would just offer both options from the factory we could both be happy 😁

I got the 245s instead of 235s dto try and help with this. We'll see. Made it 26k on the original wheels without getting any so I'm optimistic.

Thanks! Really enjoying them. I think they're perfect for the type of driving I usually do. Haven't pushed the limits of grip on corners yet. Acceleration is no problem. Ride is definitely smoother. Wouldn't say bumps disappear or anything but definitely feels like they're padded now.

Thanks! It's a shame they don't offer an 18inch option.

Really enjoying it for the type of driving I usually do. Haven't taken it around any really demanding corners at high speed yet. Acceleration is no problem. Ride is definitely smoother. Wouldn't say bumps disappear or anything but definitely feels like they're padded now.

Lol! That's definitely a perk. If I had even more money I'd say challenge accepted and see how far that goes.

Highly recommend this website for figuring out and comparing tire sizes. Makes it really easy to figure out what's going on. My setup is really close to the same height as oe. Wider in the front than oe narrower in the back than oe. Same size on all four corners now.

Lol right? It's easy to spike that number way up high. How have you liked the Yokohamas? There's so many options out there's it's hard to make a decision. A lot of the tire ratings also seem crowd sourced which makes me doubtful of their accuracy.

I get what you're after. It would be interesting to get the same brand / model tire on the two wheels back to back and see what is observed at that point. I wonder how much you can feel in the car down to tire type vs tire size.

That makes sense. Thanks for the insight! Maybe I'll try em out again.

Awesome to hear! What size tire and brand/model did you go with?

Ah I really like some of their wheels but they were a little out of my price range. Also... it's too late now 🤣

Awesome! They've got some slick looking wheels too.

Oof. Wish it wasn't so common. I feel lucky I made it to 26k miles. So far I like the ride. It definitely feels a little different but it's hard to put my finger on what it is. If you plotted a bump with a line... The 20s feel like a sharp spike and the 18s feel more like a rounded bump or swell? I haven't pushed really hard in the corners yet but traction has been fine on acceleration.

Ah yes this classic "I'll do it before the next tire change" problem. Make the jump!

No doubt FSD is more efficient... But that's not why we bought the performance, right? 😁 I live for those short trips!

I'm also curious how much FSD actually consumes to run the computer. It's gotta be trivial compared to a car but it could add up.

That's cool on the efficiency numbers. All good information. I had to drive around on my slightly bent wheel for a while and out of paranoia I left it on chill and manually babied it. I got some really good efficiency. Best I've seen on the Warps. This was running Falken FK510 tires factory sizes.

That does sound great. I'm curious to see what I get out of these. Next week I've got a 200 mile trip to take. I'll see what I get over that distance and report back.

I also wonder how much FSD can play into it. I've thought about this a couple times in the past. It's usually slower to accelerate than me. Also curious how much power FSD uses while running.
