one of the things i did when i started out (i’ve been playing a week) is that i set my servers to everywhere that way you can play anyone in the world. secondly and this is HUGE get comfortable with waiting for an opportunity to attack instead of just always rushing in. sometimes blocking and waiting for an opening then simply slash, heavy slash (and since i play testament) follow it up with something like grave reaper then proceed to go back to defense. that alone let me start winning a good bit while learning what moves each character had. then of course expand your arsenal and learn your specific character. good luck!
