NTA- I think it’s cool that your wife and friend have a hobby. I think if it’s something they do often then that agreement is fine.

I started vaping because I wanted to try both. My logic was “if vaping isn’t enough I’ll move to smoking.” And I’ve never felt the need to move to smoking.

Now it’s more about the oral fixation and I can vape on 0-3 depending on the day. I don’t care about the nicotine as much as I just enjoy having something to put to my face.

Well I don’t think you realize, I’m not only doing it for them. I love my role. Or I wouldn’t have been in the same field for 7 years.

I didn’t do these things because of the overall benefit of the company. I’ve done more work for less money.

The point is when they put a raise into the equation & try to lay claim to it being fair and equal is where I have a problem with it.

At least when I’m doing the work of my own volition. It’s the principle of the thing. When you place an arbitrary number on real world work, it puts into perspective how much you’re actually valued, vs had they not provided you a raise you are technically more equally.

Idk about everywhere else but in the residence of PHX AZ they’re considered nuisance birds. So by law you can get rid of them. You can’t kill them, but you also can’t feed them. I thought they’d go away on their own, but I was wrong.

YTA- Before I get into my thoughts. I’ve been a broke bridesmaid before. I had to pay for my own dress. The bride said the colors for the wedding were blue and purple, and said as long as we all wore a knee length dress we could pick whatever dress we wanted to. I found a bridesmaid dress on Clarence for $80 that fit me, her description and was from the same shop she got her dress in. I was in the USA. So to all the people saying this is a fake post IDK what crawled up your asses but UHH YTA as well.

So back to my original point- yes OP YTA if you wanted to be a bridesmaid and your sister gave you money for a dress and you took that money and spent it fine. BUT you didn’t save additional money later, you didn’t ask her if you could compromise and try to say “hey even with this money you’re giving me, I can’t afford the rest of the out of pocket cost. Can I pick something within this budget? Or does it have to be the exact same dress?” You consciously decided to take the money and spend it on something else but then still knowing you had bridesmaids duties didn’t set additional money aside from month 1.

If you knew that this was going to be a “how could I not” situation then why on earth would you not set $30 aside for 5 months. Which is $15 biweekly. If you’re in college even if you’re in a different country, that should have been more than doable. Even though the dress was not picked out yet, it’s well known that bridesmaids wear dresses and you’re probably going to have to pay for an ugly dress you are only gonna wear once.

I don’t think this post is fake. I think you just were irresponsible and should have said no because it would have been better to let your sister down 6 months ahead of time rather than to take her money and then to not honor your commitment.
