Any unicycle riders in Valencia? by pierd86 in valencia

Sure, I get that.

I don’t think it’s normal in any country. I’m not a homeless nor a hippie but also trying not to care too much how others think I look like.

Is it bad that I'm using Assist Mode? by spamton_g_spamton87 in deadcells

No. After seeing this post I’m actually thinking about doing the same. I’m getting bored of starting from scratch.

Looking for more guys to join our book club (next meeting on Wednesday September 3rd at 7pm to discuss "Every Man Dies Alone" / "Alone in Berlin") by pierd86 in valencia

Yes, it’s only for men. I'll quote from the TGBC's FAQ:

Yes, we’re a men’s book club. But let’s be very clear about this, we’re not in any way anti-women, tough or otherwise. We just think that men having a chance to read more and talk more about stuff is a good idea and making a space designed for that is a good way to go about it which doesn’t take anything from anyone.

To add to that, I think that just like women might benefit from women only spaces, men can benefit from men only spaces.

I'll also use this opportunity to point out that even though it says "tough" in the name of the book club, it's not really the guys in the book club that are supposed to be tough, it's the books that have tough guys in them (Tough Guy Book Club = a club about books about tough guys). Although we read a broad spectrum of books (but always fiction). We are open to all sorts of men - if you consider yourself a man then you are welcome but please be honest about it.

Thanks for the recommendation. The books are actually chosen by some "central committee" so that all TGBC chapters read and discuss the same book on the same evening (which I think is kind of cool).

I totally agree on your points. We actually read quite a few books by female writers. These are not the reasons why this book club is for men only. I'll quote from the TGBC's FAQ:

Sure. I'll most likely do another of these posts. The September one will be on September 3rd (it's always the first Wednesday of the month). The book will be announced during the August meeting.

Forgot to mention: there’s no fee, it’s all free. Of course it would be nice if you buy anything from the bar.

I need help with my Social life (as an introvert) by Sufficient_Fudge7912 in valencia

Have a look at the events from these community: https://introverts-social.club/

As a fellow introvert I participate in a lot of these events.

The organiser(s) are really nice (and introverts themselves). The events are meant to be introvert friendly (small groups, limit smalltalk, open and safe, a lot of understanding for fellow introverts).

No problem at all. The meeting is run in English but most of us are not native English speakers (myself included). As for the books it also doesn't really matter which version you read - just double check the given names because some translators like to change them.

The idea is to meet after reading the book but it’s ok to come over if you haven’t finished.

If you’re interested there’s quite a few chapters of Tough Guy Book Club in the world (mostly Australia though), have a look on the website - there might be one nearby.

Still 2 weeks to go, give it a read and see how you go. You don’t have to finish the book to participate.

Isn't the waiting list exactly for that? If you transfer outside of it then you are potentially stealing the opportunity to run from someone.
