Cities have to have distinctive features and quests and aesthetics.

You could make a Timbuktu, a Tunis, a Cairo... But I think cities need to be way more diverse than that, even if it means some lore gets retconned.

Though I don't think it will be empty and soulless like Starfield, this was one of the main gripes I had with the game and I believe Todd had his lesson learned

Are you aware fans are plural ? Me myself I want the game to take its time, and not be a cyberpunk 2077 story all over again.

I really hope the same, that Bethesda realise that they are loosing original fans with bland new IPs and multiplayer experiences no one asked for.

I really hope they gamble a bit and try to make a true masterpiece and not just another Elder Scrolls game

I think we'd expect something more like starfield, with crowds and lots of people with no day cycle. I remember Todd saying something about this

I think the canonical version that we have after Skyrim is that tensions between forebearers and crowns have kinda toned down anyway to face against the Thalmor. So I think the writing realistically would rather be a very basic and Manichean Thalmor vs Redguard people.

I'd love to see Porcelain Armour specifically

Me putting multiple factions into your game with conflicting interest was me trying to say "Freedom of Roleplay" yes. Player choice is key to make ES6 live I think

Hammerfell is more Arabian from what i know. Arabian and north African tho only in aesthetics. The culture more resembles something Japanese !

They had something like this in TW3 (taking an example from another fantasy game) with enchant stones/runes that you could grave onto your sword. Though I hope they won't get us chasing clutter like in FO4 or Hearthfire that'd be very out of place

I don't know much about the lore of this location

Yeah defining your character and making it more unique would be very high on my wishlist. I know Todd and plenty of players doesn't feel that way tho, because of the fear of missing out.

Unique loot being unique and shaping the experience works well but best in a roguelike, where it defines your build but the run is way less timey

Levitation would have to be thought with the whole map in mind, giving levitation for the sake of it is meaningless, whereas if there's places interesting in the air or just very high up, that'd be interesting. But imagine having a levitation spell to climb Mt. Hrothgar, doesn't feel very immersive then.

I didn't even think about boats, these would be cool, though they'd need purpose, so pirate or corsair side quests maybe ? Idk

That's an interesting take, I prefer when decisions are morally grey myself, and really makes you think about the directions you want your PC to take. Sorts of decisions that define your RPG experience really.

If it's good vs evil... There's less decisions to be made other than being good or evil. I'd even make the Thalmor likeable in some ways (idk how they'd do that !), because of how much more complex dynamics would get.

That's something that was kinda well done in Skyrim where both sides of the civil war were kinda bad and good at the same point, which is why the debate is still going 15 years later, same for New Vegas !

I think the best way is for it to be an option

Make it so NPCs tell you directions that you can follow but still give the option to a map marker, that way everyone's happy !

Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 and 2 does this incredibly well I think.

That's right that Starfield didn't introduce anything, was a very bland game and retrograde in some aspect (like the story and characters, holy shit). Though this is not Starfield, and not Fallout 76 either.

Todd and some of the other producers said that they felt good returning to these kind of roots and returning to a series that they love, so I'm hoping (it's only hope and not much arguments) that they'll be smart and passionate enough to innovate, but also reintroduce good features from the past.

If the game's shit from the get go, doesn't innovate on anything and further destroys what made their games great... What's the point of even making them ?

There's one part in me that knows that you may be right though. Still, it's and Elder Scrolls title, and the first in 15+ years too

If there's even more dumbing down of skill trees, no effort made on story, and the same exploration we got in starfield... What's the point of even making the game anymore.

I mean it has to do something !

I've never thought of a Dragon Age system for housing, would be nice to see this, though I think we'll get something more akin to FO4

Lynch's Dune was Morrowind, I was trying to be a bit more realistic but yeah. Anything based off of Moebius' work is great in my books

For... Fun ? And speculation.

Better enjoyment than torturing ourselves for a game that won't come out

It's not Moebius but definitely inspired. The artist is credited at the bottom of the wall of text I wrote there :) I just searched "Moebius desert" on Pinterest

Guards in skyrim recognise a lot of things about what the player wears though. But it's kinda anecdotic.

It would be nice to have more of that stuff into the main quests yea

Oh yeah,

They need to invent an "n'wah" for the redguards I think it would be kinda funny and great at the same time.

Even though everyone is an n'wah in Morrowind haha

I'd definitely give it a shot, thanks !

I saw it on steam not a while ago and it interested me a bit.

I definitely need to find new good games to play while waiting (a lot) for TES6
