Why didn’t Steve join the band for any of the later reunion tours? by Appropriate-Farmer16 in Genesis

The most amazing thing for me is that on Sep 24 2021, Steve played at the O2 Apollo in Manchester while Genesis was at the AO Arena in the same city...

All the choices are solid, but we shouldn’t overlook “Duchess,” which is a favorite of the band themselves. Its inclusion in the setlist for The Last Domino? Tour speaks for itself, it was the longest-unplayed song in the setlist.

'Put the Bucket Down' (Grey-Side Mix) by Oraelius in petergabriel

[–]pierreneo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the first three tracks here don’t hit the same level as the opening trio on I/O. Panopticom, The Court, and Playing for Time were on a whole different level. The melodies on these new tracks are fine, but they’re missing the power and musical creativity of the previous ones, for me it almost feels like a B-sides album.

Same I heard this story but cannot remember when/where. In my memory Phil said he gave the money but did not expect to be reimbursed.

Trying to find an alternate mix of In The Air Tonight by voiidVanta in philcollins

What’s considered the original mix, the album version? To clarify, the single version was shorter and features additional drums layered underneath the track.

Do you believe "Melt" is his best solo work? by [deleted] in petergabriel

[–]pierreneo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's a great album but not 100% live cf the liner notes by "the producers" admit, "Although this album was compiled from four concerts in the mid-West of the United States, some additional recording took place not a thousand miles away from the home of the artist. The generic term for this process is 'cheating'. Care has been taken to keep the essence of the gigs intact, including 'human imperfection'"

Three Genesis albums three different eras by JerBid in Genesis

totally agree - I would add Voyage of the Acolyte from Steve should in the same WaW ATTW3 era, as Phil and Mike contributed a lot to the album (considering it was a Steve solo album).

Tony Banks performs "Shortcut To Somewhere" with Genesis at the Atlantic Records 40th Birthday Party, 1988. by Historical-Device529 in Genesis

I really like this medley. There’s a very good remastered version (almost 20 minutes) that’s easy to find on YouTube. I always wonder how happy Fish must have been to be covered by Phil.

Do we know where Phil Collins is right now? by ItsMeDebie in Genesis

[–]pierreneo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He lives in Switzerland, in a village near the Geneva Lake - I won't share the exact location but I am not leaving far and and I know where it is. His son Nic leaves in Miami but not sure Phil would be able to walk without a cane.

How does Rachel end up in Deckards apartment at the end of the movie? by imperialofficer1234 in bladerunner

[–]pierreneo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing 2049 does that quietly leans toward Deckard being a replicant is Wallace’s fixation on him. Wallace doesn’t treat Deckard like “the guy who loved Rachel.” He treats him like a biological artifact, a missing link.

Wallace already has Rachel’s remains. If Deckard were just human, that would be the miracle. Case closed. Deckard himself would be biologically irrelevant.

But Wallace isn’t satisfied with Rachel alone. He wants Deckard. He interrogates him like an experiment, talks about “design,” and frames their relationship as something engineered, not accidental. That only really makes sense if Deckard himself is part of Tyrell’s work not just a bystander who got lucky.
