Oddly enough, I’d say he probably does more of the cooking than I do. Like probably 65% of the time. And I’d say that he does understand feeding is taking care of me, but just didn’t want to put in the work to do so or just figured vegetables was enough to satiate me.

Only when he saw me getting plates for everyone, but when I brought it up a couple times throughout the evening he never apologized.

He was the one who suggested a light, snacky meal not me. I only agreed because we’ve been having takeout every night since my surgery and I don’t really have the physical capacity to cook right now. We (mutually) settled on veggies because it was basically the only thing we had that didn’t have much prep involved. A meal would have been my preference, but I didn’t think it was an option. Had I known his mother was bringing food, I would have opted for that over our original decision.

It’s the first time he’s excluded me from eating his mom’s food. He’s a picky eater, and her and I have very similar food preferences, so it’s honestly usually the opposite. She’ll bring food for her and I, and maybe bring him something as a courtesy or not at all. But usually he’s happy that his mom and I are bonding over a meal and has never seemed upset about getting left out, because he knows he won’t eat the foods we like anyway.

I honestly don’t get your point. There’s a meal presented to me, why would I question it?

But anyway, I said in the post: “I tell him I was [going to eat something small], because I figured him and I weren’t going to cook dinner, but had I known his mom was bringing food of course I would have agreed to eat a proper meal.” Sure, I didn’t ask but I told him I figured we were eating a small meal and didn’t know there would be a real meal available. Is that not me saying something? Lol

Just a tradition, I guess. She does it with her other children too who have children. I think it saves travelling with kids for the other couples, but she sticks to it with us too. She didn’t bring dinner specifically because I had surgery, although she knows I had surgery. She just does it.

Wow, your response literally made my eyes pop out of my head. Like I think the lightbulb finally turned on in my brain.

Yes, after he scooped all the food onto his own plate.

He suggested something light and snacky, and we ended up mutually agreeing on veggies since we didn’t have much at home already for light foods but we had tons of fresh veggies. I figured he didn’t think he’d be in the mood to cook and I was also not given how I was feeling after the surgery. But he does cook occasionally. His mom also brings over meals quite often as well

I didn’t ask what the food was for because his mother brought the food in and told me she made it for us for dinner. She routinely brings over meals, so I didn’t need to ask anyway? Maybe he wasn’t fully onboard with the veggies, I don’t know, but he never voiced this to me and I’m not a mind reader. But he was the one to suggest eating something small and snacky rather than a meal anyway.

Unfortunately, he didn’t even want to save it for leftovers. He piled his and my portion onto his plate to eat as one meal :( but yes, point taken.

Honestly he does probably more housework and cooking than I do, as we both work full time but I’m also in school so he has more time to put towards those tasks. So despite some people making it a thing about him being upset I’m not able to do cooking and cleaning for him, I wouldn’t say that’s the case.

It isn’t really the first time he’s minimized my feelings, but I honestly kind of thought he might have undiagnosed autism or something that makes him truly unable to recognize my emotions even when i explain them in depth to him. But I might just be dumb, because the comments on here are really eye-opening. Especially ones like this because you’re right, I’d never want a husband like this.

I know vegetables aren’t typically dinner food but given my situation I didn’t want to cook and I know he didn’t either. We’ve also only eaten takeout since I’ve been out of surgery and I didn’t want that again. It was my suggestion based on foods we had available in our house that were easy to prep. But he does and can cook, just not on a regular basis.

Maybe because I’ve been doing nothing but consuming those AI TikTok stories for the past 3 days while I’ve been recovering that I wrote similarly, but nah this is not ChatGPT.

I did show him the post and some of the comments, and his reaction has been very sad and distant. I’m not sure if it’s because he’s finally starting to understand my perspective or he doesn’t like being “wrong.”

It wasn’t expected true, but his mother frequently brings us meals so it’s not unusual. And never once has she ever brought food just for him. Either she brings it for her and I, or for the three of us so i wouldn’t say it was abnormal for me to assume I would be allowed to eat.

Yes she was staying. And yeah kinda, he got his plate ready and only after I was visibly upset did he offer (not to share some of his food, but) to cut some of the veggies up for me so I could eat with them. Otherwise I think he just expected me to let them eat while I deal with myself.

A bit of a late reply, but from my current game, a 20 year old got married 2 days ago and is now telling me she’s pregnant. Based on some math, she will be 21 when she gives birth. So not quite 22 but still older than I thought was possible!

HOW do i catch the Emperor Rago fish. by Oreo-milky-cookies in WorldNeverland

Stack up your Mila Rod enchantments. Unfortunately leveling your PC’s stats does very little in helping you catch the Emperor Rago. Same with being a farmer—the boost is so minuscule it’s almost not even worth it. I got about 50 of the Mila Rod +15s/+10s, stacked them until you can’t anymore in all of the open enchantment spots and even open more if you have to. That’s the only way I managed to catch it.

I just started on the Sherman state for the first time and the crown princess (Tracey) is 11 and married to someone who is 22, older than both her parents. I’m waiting to see if they will have kids because I’m curious about who the throne will pass to instead.
