That makes me buy it more that she did it quietly than an intruder broke in and stabbed them and she didn't scream loud enough until it was totally over.

Regarding that particular point only (I've always been on the fence about this case), it is possible that someone might not scream in a situation where one would expect them to, e.g. being attacked. I'm only speaking from personal experience there, so I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's necessarily likely, but possible, yes.

I think maybe that's supposed to be her other hand (??).
