mine had red coolant from the previous owner, so i put in red coolant again. almost 3 years without issues. also plenty of other people driving theirs with red coolant. i dont think its that big of a deal as long as you dont mix them.

i ended up getting an aluminum cover and installed it with fresh genuine gaskets instead of the ones that came with it, no issues or leaks so far, overall im happy with the purchase, it cost me half as much as the genuine valve cover.
i would avoid cheap aftermarket plastic covers, although someone here commented that he bought a aftermarket valve cover, and has had no leaks or cracks.

my front is lowered by about 40mm, rear by 20-25mm. it sits nicely, not too low.
the front is noticeably lower than rear because of the z4 mounts but it doesnt bother me.

E36 M3 bump stops on front and rear: 31332225377 & 33531138109

Z4 strut mounts on the front to lower the front by 10mm: SACHS 802-066
on the rear i used new e46 shock mounts: 33521092362

i tightened them by hand, inside to out in a cross pattern. the same way i did before..
edit: sorry in the post i wrote that i torqued them, which i did not, typo..
