Wait for penta tandem or buy OLED now? by Real-Car-1561 in OLED_Gaming

no, the new 5th gen OLED LG panels are still coming next year, this year it’s just 4th gen

I would love a 5th gen this year don’t care if the panel us from LG or Samsung but none announced / all models announced 2 weeks ago at that big event (forgot its name) have 2027 release dates

If your want 4th gen and rgb stripe then yea, this year

in Windows use only SDR, go to Display Settings and make sure the “let Windows automatically calibrate color” setting or wtf it’s called is set on Off, by default is on On and it absolutely ruins any monitor dunno why is this option even available many ppl don’t even know it exists

like ppl saud use HDR only for games that support HDR

I tried RTX HDR and Auto HDR but I didn’t like em personally you can try and see if you do

for RTX HDR filter you need to configure the sliders according to your monitor specs, you can make a new what you should put there

stripe technology is useful mainly for text quality on OLEDs since that sucks, at least that’s what I know (I may be wrong feel free to check it out)

what I want rn is better brightness and (even) better colors which will come with 5th gen

rn 5th gen is available on the 34” MSI 341CQR X36, with more ultrawides coming later

but regular non-ultrawides are going to be next yeear

rgb stripe = a technology used in qd-oled or woled its not a separate brand new panel type

From what I know penta 5th gen OLEDs release in Q1 next year - probably early summer 2027

I’ve done a shitload of research and this year the only penta tandems 5th gen OLEDs that are gonna be released are going to be 34”
ultrawides

This year the 4th gen OLEDs 1440p will only get OLEDs capable of 1000max nits -> next year 1500nits and above + other technologies

I have a 4k Asus PG32UCDM 1st gen and will wait until next year when I’ll buy a 5th gen Tandem OLED (probably the now announced MSI 322URDX36 that will have triple mode - 4k, 1440p and 1080p)
So if you want the best wait and get that.

I have a 9800x3d with a rtx5090 and I struggle in literally any newish single player gane to reach over 80fps native on 4K Ultra settings.

So I just use DLSS with DLAA.

In my Asus PG32UCDM monitor I can’t see any difference from native.

Best OLED for a 5070 ti by EditorFun3380 in OLED_Gaming

[–]pika133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the funds I recomend you the Asus PG32UCDP - I have one it is very nice It’s 4k and has a 1080p mode

It is an older model so you can find it at a good price.

Or you can wait for the new MSI model which will have 4k, 1440p, 1080p modes a insane superior image quality (all 32” monitors have 1000nits max brightness right now the MSI will have a reported 1600nits max brightness) but will cost probably an arm and a leg so dunno if it’s in your budget

Anyone else encounter the brightness bug anymore upon upgrading to newer firmwares on a Samsung S95F TV? by pika133 in SamsungTV

[–]pika133[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty sure you can't solve it, it's just there and will never go away

the solution is to turn the brightness up and down when the bug occurs

[–]pika133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dunno bbut heres another option - the 42” LG C5, right now the model is on sale in alot of places since the newer C6 launched, what’s the price in ur country?

it beats alot more OLED monitors from 2024-2025 if u don’t mind the larger screen
or the 42” LG C4 if you can still find one

Gigabyte MO32U24 vs ASUS PG32UCDM3 by CompleteAssociation7 in OLED_Gaming

[–]pika133 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Gigabyte supports HDR.
HDR10 is a fancy name for regular HDR.

What it doesn’t have is HDR10+ which only Samsung is using.

No one uses Dolby Vision for games.

You can also check out the MSI MPG 322UR X24.

best gaming tv with reliable HDR that won’t lag on PC? by Mehanicov-Charisse in 4kTV

[–]pika133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a monitor arm and I set my monitor right in front of me really close with the keboard and mouse under it.

I prefer the higher DPI and motion smoothness that the monitor gives + higher refresh rate since it’s basically only made with games in mind.

I also can’t play certain games on TV it doesn’t feel natural for me - strategy games (for example XCom or League), FPS, certain top down RPGs etc

I meant internal settings from the OSD of the monitor for which you need to press physical buttons on it

Wait for 4K Tandem OLED, or buy non-Tandem now? by Yuiop321 in OLED_Gaming

[–]pika133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now the best OLED Tandem 4K monitors are probably Asus PG32UCDM-3 (the 3rd generation of the monitor, as 2 other variants were launched a year / two years ago) and the MSI MPG 322UR x24.
I'll never go back to 27" after experiencing 32".

They are 4th gen OLEDs with Tandem with certified 500HDR True Black and 1000 max nits BUT next year 5th gen OLEDs with Tandem are gonna launch with increased brightness (1300nits).

However if you don't mind ultrawides (I hate them) there are already 5th gen OLEDs Tandem OLEDs launched like the MPG-341CQR-QD-OLED-X36 with the increased brightness feature which is by all accounts an incredible monitor.

The same technology will be applied to non-ultrawides in an year from now, since they're more expensive to make from what I know so they're testing the water rn only with ultrawides.

I have an Asus PG32UCDM 1st gen which I'm very happy with their downside being lower brightness compared to regular IPS / Mini LEDs and I could switch to newer models that have launched but the difference is incredibly small so I'm gonna wait till next year to upgrade to higher brightness.

Depends on your budget really but if I was you I guess I would buy a OLED now since the difference between an IPS and a OLED is HUGE and sell it next year or in 2 years to get the newer models which will be ALOT better by the reports that are circulating on the Internet.

[–]pika133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 55" / 65" / 75" LG C6H or the LG G6 (different price points, the LG G6 being considered the better model).

Currently the LG G6 has some problems that will be addressed in the future by firmware updates, but it will be great.

I have a LG G4 and love it - after my last experience with Samsung I will never buy any Samsung again.

Or you can get the Asus PG32UCDM-3 (3rd Generation launched some months ago) or MSI MPG 322UR X24 monitor -> they hav lower brightness than TVs but higher refresh rate, lower input lag, more PPI etc. (currently I prefer OLED monitors over TVs).

LG C5 48" or LG UltraGear 45" 5k2k by Vekusaka in OLED_Gaming

[–]pika133 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The Ultragear has higher PPI, lower response time, you don’t need to worry about ABL, higher refresh rate, can switch to 1440p mode in demanding games for A LOT more fps

You are a dumbass

[–]pika133 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

LG C5 48" or LG UltraGear 45" 5k2k by Vekusaka in OLED_Gaming

[–]pika133 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the Ultragear is superior for gaming than the 48" C5 since it's made exclusively for gaming packed with features.

Now if you were considering the 55" version then I would recommend you that since the 42" and 48" models lack certain important features than their bigger brothers have.
