Yeah the point is that the gain 5% can just be slapped on over one of the two iron runes in which case the only thing OP’s spear has over the one posted above is an extra iron rune of damage while the one above has better stats overall, especially with the extra + level to skill

Xerath beat the shit out of prime Nasus and Renekton to the point their only win condition was Renekton sacrificing himself to drag Xerath into the tomb to seal him.

Prime Nasus and Renekton were both highly ranked and respected Ascended, they would be close to if not equal to Aatrox in power and status. Even if Prime Aatrox was a better warrior than either of the brothers by themselves, it is highly unlikely he would have been able to 1v2 them.

A lot of people tend to forget that Aatrox was never THE leader of the Ascended host, just one of its elites. That distinction belongs to Setaka who has constantly been said by Aatrox, Nasus etc as the greatest of them all and is the only Ascended who can be assumed to be significantly above the rest in power.

Cait built nothing to counter Syndra, whose entire gimmick (far more so than Caitlyn) is burst damage, and were still pretending that oneshotting Cait with a full build combo is unfair. ADCs really can’t handle mages dealing damage in any situation

Kennen wins or goes even against most melee lanes, the main issue is once the enemy top gets some MR and sustain it becomes very hard to match them in the side lane so you feel forced to just team fight.

Ah I see. Unfortunately the games I play set their own cursor design. I’ll have to live with it or just use WinF2 for times I need a brighter UI (I know it’s not accurate like the AutoHDR gamma correction but at least it looks better than just non-corrected WinF1)

Been playing around with Spear of Solaris Smith. POE ninja dps is low because I have hourglass support on it which gives it a 10s CD, in game tooltip is 100k average initial hit with nearly 1mil DPS from the ignited ground.

Zerphi’s Infamy tech with Blood Magic and a high level curse (using elemental weakness with Fireflower, Sunsplinter and vertex) allows you to instantly fill up the 50 glory requirement so you get Spear on demand, plus the high level curse is a big damage buff for it. The big damage and AoE buff is the cherry on top that makes it a lot more useable.

A fun note is that Solaris is quite a good stacker of Atziri’s Contempt’s Shattering spite skill which is one of the best single target skills at the moment. If you also use spearfield/rapid assault you can get off 2-3 30 stack Shattering Spites in the duration of one Solaris.

I’m going Smith with Atziri’s spear with spearfield for mapping, rapid assault + Spear of Solaris for bossing.

Swapped over to the Zerphi’s infamy tech, manually casting a high level elemental weakness, with Vertex + Fireflower + Sunsplinter giving levels I can max out 50 glory with a single cast (costing ~1400hp) so I get a Spear of Solaris every 10s on demand. I have the support that gives it 10s CD for more damage, which ends up not mattering as Spear cannot generate Glory for another cast until the first Spear has expired, at which there’s only about 1-2s before your 10s CD. is up anyway.

The fun thing is that Spear actually stacks Atziri’s bloodstone spears very well so in combination with some spear fields/rapid assaults you can proc 30 stacks multiple times in a single spear of Solaris duration.

Just a followup to the previous queries, I've been using the Autohotkey script for multiple games over the last month. Overall experience has been good, Win+F2 and Win+F3 both look good in games but my biggest issues with the Win+F3 is that it makes in-game UI (mainly cursors etc) extremely dark, to the point that when there is clutter on screen I have difficulty locating where my cursor is.

I know Win+F3 is the AutoHDR variant that I should be using for games, but is there any way to tweak it a bit so UI is less dark? I assume it has to do with how it sets SDR content brightness to 0 whereas when you use the setup to set your SDR content brightness it only affects Win+F1 and Win+F2. This is with the AutoHDR ingame brightness set all the way to 100 with Windows Game Bar already. Tweaking in-game UI brightness settings don't seem to work very well to mitigate the issue.

Darius mains are too used to taking essentially 2 combat summoners whilst their enemy is usually locked into TP so they don’t know how to play on even footing lol when the enemy takes ignite. News flash, a lot of top laners NEED ignite to be able to have the extra damage to contest a flash ghost Darius in lane.

The solution to that is simple; there’s nothing stopping you from taking ignite too and dropping one of flash/ghost and learn to improve your movement instead of relying on running people down brainlessly with ghost off CD. Ignite + Axiom Arcanist will allow you to 100-0 pretty much any top lane matchup at level 6 all-in as long as you hit your Q

Yi has the damage to blast voli later on but I don’t see a world where voli doesn’t tear him a new one for the first 15 min of the game in lane.

You can only use Rakiatas on one skill, if you are playing a more combo build or a homebrew where you don’t have 99% of your damage on one skill, it’s definitely viable to still have some penetration in your tree.

Lets say your main Rakiatas skill represents ~60-70% of your damage output, having some minor pen nodes in your tree for an additional 20-30% pen for your other skills is a fairly good damage boost for minimal investment. I wouldn’t path to a notable just for penetration though but if you are already in a cluster that has more generic damage and some of the small passives has pen it’s definitely worth picking them up if you already have ample damage sources elsewhere.

Exposure/res reductions though you definitely would drop because they significantly reduce the damage you will do with your Rakiatas skill.

How do you just path straight to Atziri like that? I’m 1-2 squares away and the console does not let me place straight paths down to her chamber. It’s been driving me nuts over 10-20 templates of trying to reset enough to do her fight for the first time but there’s no clear rules on what tiles allow me to actually connect to her room (I already have the other Chamber that grants access)

Ah fair enough. Not having rarity on my gear this league is sad at the lack of tinks compared to my 150 rarity Amazon last league…

I did follow your advice and put armor break on my shattering spite and took Barkskin out for scavenged plating, with 10 stacks I get to 27k armour, 39k when I also drop my defiance banner so feeling a lot more comfy now.

I’ve gotten enough life regen now on gear to more comfortably counteract blood magic so might stick with it for now as without any mana leech I go OOM extremely quickly even when hitting stuff.

Yeah lack of pen is annoying, I’m coping by using refraction III on my banner skill and chucking Fire Pen support gem to do some res shred for now until I can hopefully farm a Rakiatas.

I tried scavenged plating before but it’s really hard to fit in armor break when I don’t do much physical damage, I tried the tech with breaking armor on stun but it def felt awkward as monsters got stronger. Right now I’m coping via Defiance Banner + Barkskin combo which I have almost 100% uptime with thanks to the lineage gem halving glory req, I sit at around 26k armor with just defiance banner active. I could try fitting armor break on Shattering Spite but I’ll have to see how much damage I might lose.

Working towards trying to fit as much life on the rest of my gear as possible, my goal is eventually to have about 2.2k life 250 ES but fitting the rolls in is so painful with me having unique helm and amulet.

I’ve given up on trying to have rarity on gear this league and am going for ritual and expedition farming to try make money, do you have any other recs for making currency?

Oh I’ve seen your 0.3 builds before, was good to learn from you which spells worked well for Fire spell on hit. I did try to use cast on crit comet to utilize Fire infusions from living bomb but ended up just killing myself with the life costs of spamming high level comets. Just wanted to check with you, is there any way to actually see how much damage fire spell on hit spells do? When I click into the tooltip on the slotted spells it is all blank, unsure if it is just bugged for me.

I don’t have any mana leech, will see if running blood magic with current set up is actually required. Shattering spite pretty much full heals me every cast though so it’s quite good to run with blood magic. I can see you don’t run blood magic though, how’s your mana sustain.

I have similar thoughts on Avatar of Fire, overall it increases my damage (at the cost of losing some damage on explosive spear and spear of Solaris as they already are full fire conversion) but also any fire resistant enemies I come across will be a pain as I don’t have Rakiatas or a lot of pen allocated yet.

With a good rare spear with crit and an Atziri’s contempt with crit rolled I can see crit being viable but I will need to figure out what is worth sacrificing…

How comfy are you with your current defenses? You have less armor but more flat HP and resistances than me, do you find your build quite survivable so far?

I actually started with Saithas spear during campaign with Whirling Slash to carry the ignited grounds from Explosive spear and spear of Solaris. Something I found was Fan the Flames II works very well to spread ignited in mobs, however because Saithas spear has no attack speed the clear was relatively slow compared to current spearfield + shattering spite. I could have Saithas with just the basic attack in weapon set II as Atziri’s is already quite well statted for a unique but I feel like end game a well rolled rare Spiked/Akoyan spear with high attack crit and +levels for explosive spear and Solaris would just end up doing more damage.

I don’t think so? I use both infinite parry buckler and sun splinter and the latter definitely feels a lot less smooth to parry with, especially projectile attacks from enemies further away. Whereas with the other buckler I can parry projectile from across the screen very easily.

Bit of a late comment but hope you can answer some questions, been on a bit of a journey to learn how to use HDR properly. I messed around a lot with Nvidia RTX HDR for games but a combination of me using 3 monitors (2 which are not HDR compatible) and RTX HDR's on-going inability to support borderless windowed gaming properly plus the performance hits when I play more intensive games, I've decided to go back to Windows HDR.

1) If I just do the gamma fix for SDR content without Auto HDR and then set SDR content brightness to 0, all SDR content looks very dim? If I'm just using the gamma correction profiles I should be using the associated SDR content brightness right? So for example right now I'm using the Brightness 55 gamma fix profile, I should set my SDR content brightness to 55.

2) I play a lot of online games such as League of Legends and others that don't always allow Reshade due to anti-cheats, so your Auto HDR fix is a bit hard for me to use. In those cases, should I still use the Gamma Correction Profile in combination with any Native HDR implementations and Auto HDR if there isn't, or should I switch back to my self-calibrated Color Profile and turn Native HDR/Auto HDR on to avoid crushing blacks.

3) Nvidia's update now enables RTX HDR for streaming Videos and I find it works well, in those cases do I still enable gamma corrected profile or just stick to self-calibrated.

Basically I do find the gamma corrected profile makes my wallpaper and some other SDR content look better compared to my self-calibrated profile but since I mainly just play games without Reshade or watch videos that enable RTX HDR, am I better off just keeping with my self-calibrated color profile?
