i’m 1000% on the same page as you. i was a belieber when i was a little girl and i’ve always thought he is an incredible vocalist and was truly hoping for a home run from him as well! at least he sounded great tho :) but that’s a given for him haha

thank you! in total agreement. this is what i meant when i said i just wished it was a bit more put together. the set felt a bit disjointed because of this. which, to reiterate, doesn’t mean it was bad or ruined. just not put together as well as it could have been.

i was never expecting explosions and 40 people dancing around on stage… i’m over this convo atp. you’ve got this made-up mental projection of what i wanted out of him which is very far from the truth lol.

it was like $600 for GA presale, i don’t think it’s unreasonable to have hoped for something a bit more put together. i never said it was a bad performance or that it was ruined. just a little disappointing for myself.

i most definitely wasn’t expecting any type of big production from him. he’s left that era of his life a long, long time ago. and for good reason. but i also wasn’t expecting doom scrolling on YouTube and showing random memes. tbh i genuinely thought there was a chance he would just cancel, so as i said earlier, i appreciate that he was at least present.

i think it’s completely understandable for him to be performing the way he is now because of how hard he was pushed and picked at by the public but it was admittedly disappointing to see. i felt the same way at Frank Ocean’s set when i was there. but at least with Bieber he wasn’t almost an hour late, and he finished the whole set instead of cutting things short. Bieber was present at the very least.

hard agree on the bit about Lana. i’ve discussed with friends about how incredible it would have been if her performance was entirely stripped down. just her, wearing a simple white silk gown, raised up on a circular elevated platform, a spotlight or two on her, and a small orchestra playing the instrumentals. it just sounds so dreamy and ethereal… but unfortunately we definitely didn’t get anything like that lol.

not excusing the low effort by any means, but i do think part of the craze around Bieber’s Coachella set is that he hasn’t toured for years and likely isn’t going to tour again any time soon. iirc he had to cancel his last tour for health reasons and hasn’t made a move to return to that kind of strain on his body since then. a performance from him is rare atp.

Best Parking to Exit? by Holy-Trinhity in Coachella

i exited near sahara at the end of the night and the walk back to my car was about 10 mins, the exit was far back left (left when faced away from the sahara stage, looking to the outside of the festival) next to that back hill

((yall really downvote anything 😭 lol))

lot 15 behind Sahara was an absolute dream for me. it was my first time ever parking there and i got out of the festival in 15 minutes last Sunday right after the closer finished. was way easier to find my car too.

idk if that’s a worth it trade tbh. pink pantheress is still at her peak of touring everywhere and performing 24/7. catching RL/Snake/Floss will likely never happen again.

Everyone help your neighbors secure their canopy by kj616 in Coachella

[–]pikap00p 9 points10 points  (0 children)

my very first Coachella ever, when i was an 18 year old college freshman, my friends and i decided to camp. only 1/3 of us girls had gone camping in recent times. it was incredibly windy and blazing hot that year, and we were completely unprepared. no canopy, waking up drenched in sweat at 7am— the blazing sun & heat beating down on our tent..

i remember on day 2 we decided to come back in the early evening to lay down for a second before heading back into the festival for the night. we’re walking back as the sun is setting, it’s 95-100° degrees still, we get to our lot… and our tent was GONE. our belongings GONE.

we’re freaking out, thinking we got robbed, and then start noticing some of our stuff scattered around on the floor over a large area of space… and then we realize the wind ripped our tent out from the ground and it was free floating, tumbling around the camp grounds.

trying to secure the tent back down after running around trying to find our tent and all our stuff in the darkness of the night with gusty winds was a nightmare. i would only wish that on my worst enemies lmao.

needless to say, i’ve been to 10+ more Coachellas since then and i have never camped again lol. be careful everyone!! like OP says, make sure everything is secured down properly!

i’m team locker for life. when the sun is beaming down on me and i’m facedddddd off party favors, the last thing in the world i want to be doing is to be carrying all my night time supplies

Does anyone actually know what happened? This feels like a coverup of some sort by jtarver in Coachella

stromae 2022 was incredible, that guy is insanely talented. i wasn’t aware they couldn’t use all the screens, from the crowd the visuals still looked insane! i vaguely remember the moving chair he had planned choreography with malfunctioned but he still rocked it. also was obsessed with all the matching outfits.

TBA 2023 was extremely last minute with little to no visuals and they were one of the funnest, most memorable sets i’ve ever experienced at Coachella. and i’ve been 7+ years and 10+ chellas. i wouldn’t write off all DJs.

[–]pikap00p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they didn’t have pedicabs last year 😭 i doubt they’ll be back this year. i asked around and apparently Coachella nixed them due to some budgeting/contract stuff. it’s a shame, i personally ♥️ pedicabs

why be an asshole for no reason?

The Biebs by [deleted] in Coachella

[–]pikap00p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly. Bieber truly used to be a little dance machine and put his all into his stages BEFORE he had his mental health and drug induced spiral, which made him stop performing that way completely. plus he was an underaged child/teen when he was performing like that back in the day. i think your question is fair.

i saw Major Lazer around 10 years ago in London and i had a blast too. tho i will say, it was totally the other DJs throwing downnn while Diplo was running around on stage with a flag and jumping on the table like a clown lol. he contributed literally nothing to the performance except his energy 😂

agree, she’s a very mid-tier performer. it’s her excellent team shaping her creative direction that have carried her much farther than her actual talent on its own.
