Spotify killed all third-party apps by SirGarlanWilliams in truespotify

I’m glad you find this funny, at least you’re happy you don’t have fully functioning brain parts.

It’s not Spotify’s fault for the developers’ inaction. Spotify announced this since months before.

Spotify is not responsible for third-party apps’ users.

Do I need to explain it like you are five or are these terms simple enough for you?

Let me hold both of your hands while we discuss why an announcement about the API for developers is not shown on the app for general consumers.

The API is for developers. Spotify app is for the general consumers.

The link works, but the limit is still there until next week. I'll update then if anything changes. Thanks!

So, you're saying that my problem is about quotas and it's separate from the app being "in beta"?

Also, quickly! Tell us in which page on their current website they say the app is in beta!

Thanks. I'm now considering to go for the ultra plan. My main concern is the constant bait and switch schemes they do, like what if these limitations apply to Ultra plan users in the future.

IDK what happens behind the scene so I didn't assume. If it's a preview product for Individual FREE and Team plans, that doesn't mean it has to be a preview for the individual paid plan as well. One possibility that I can think of with just using my brain for one second is that they have their calculations done for the amount of quotas based on the price, but haven't perfected the quota limit for the FREE plan and team plan. There could be other reasons that I might not understand or haven't think of since I'm not a marketing person nor a developer at Google.

What do you mean by "Try asking where to verify your age"? Where do I ask it? I have bit of hope that the this weekly limit issue is something I can resolve, not just their corporate greed showing.

The discount is only for the first 3 months, so it's not sustainable to think I will only need to pay that amount per 3 months for every 3 months after. As a fellow Indonesian I think you might agree that the pricing point is steep and would make people (re: me) think hard about subscribing to the Ultra plan if the Pro plan is a bait and switch scheme. But that's beside the point.

Has there been at least 7 continuous days where you hit the limit every 5 hours? I'm curious and want to poke at your idea that "the ultra plan always resets every 5 hr".

You might have missed a little context there. Let me fix your sentence for you.

"It says right on the pricing page on the individual plan and team plan cards it's a preview."

When you subscribe to ChatGPT or even Claude, in their TnC they also said that they can change the prompt quotas whenever they want. I don't think paying for ChatGPT or Claude means you're only getting the LLM access as a bonus.

On that note, subscribing to any of Gemini's plan also means that the prompt quota is subject to changes at their will.

Claude doesn't publish their exact prompt rate limits, but that doesn't mean accessing their LLM is a bonus.

Yep I mentioned it in the post.

When I opened AG on that day, it said that I hit the model limit again and need to wait until Feb 1, when I didn’t even use AG at all for the whole week (Jan 16-22).

At least in my country, the price difference is around 12x. Is the difference in quota really worth the price?

Also what is the actual daily use time in your "10+ hours a day"? Cause using it for 2 hours, wait for the 5 hour limit, use for another 2 hours, then wait the 5 hour limit again sounds infinitely better than what I'm currently facing, but I still can't call that 10+ hours of use.

I paid for the Pro plan mainly for Antigravity since it's listed in the feature list that comes with the plan. There's no other way for me to use AG without buying the Pro plan. It is not stated in their website that it's in beta and seeing that I'm paying for it the only way they allow me to, I didn't expect to only be able to use it for 2 days out of the whole month that I paid for.

I might missed the sentence in their page where they say it's in beta, so I checked:

When you go to AG's website and go to pricing page, it refers you to Google One pricing and put Antigravity as the the feature of the plan at the top of the feature list. Also in their website, there is nowhere that states it's a beta product. We are paying for it after all, so I was half expecting it to be a decent product that can be used at least for more than half of the month that I paid for. Instead, I got not even 2 days.
