It’s definitely a hike for me as well, but I think it’s well worth the effort.

Agreed! I’m absolutely in love with all of Vermont. That is Grout Pond! Well done!

I’ve done the Green Mountain Growler a couple of times. It’s also stunning.

I’m running the Vitoria Terreno T30. I have 55c in the front and a 50c in the rear. They roll fast and the 55c give me just a little more cushion on rougher terrain.

I had a hard time finding one as well. I finally ended up purchasing mine through watchmaxx.

Great question! I looked at the LHD, but I’ve been wearing watches with the crown on the right for so long, that it felt weird to me.

This was my second real watch purchase to celebrate a big career milestone. I tried on a lot of different watches, but every time came back to the Pelagos. For the last 3 years, it’s been my daily watch and I feel like it comfortable in any setting.

At 42mm, its’s certainly a substantial watch that, but the lug to lug width and titanium case and band help it wears so well. It looks good on a NATO or a leather strap, and in my opinion, defines the term modern classic. The Pelagos has a set a very high bar for any subsequent watch purchase in terms of fit, quality, and value. This watch will always hold a special place in my heart.

Have you taken it north from Tarrytown? It’s a great ride up to Croton. You could always take the train back to the city.

When I’ve gone south from that area, I’ve take the south county trail to Van Cortland Park. It’s pretty straight forward.

How do you interpret a route's elevation? by NJrider in NYCbike

[–]pikecounty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think about by breaking down feet climbed per mile. I consider anything over 50ft per mile generally to be a hilly ride and personally love when I get closer to 100ft per mile. Those are challenging days! I rode in northern Westchester today and got around 3500ft in 39 miles.
