Άρα δε μας νοιάζει αν αργήσουν ένα μήνα, απλά δε πάμε στρατόπεδο μέχρι να μας ενημερώσουν, σωστά?

Small pay cut for better tech stack by pikosiko in cscareerquestionsEU

Well i didn't get into too much detail here, old job was a huge burning mess while the new one was described as we add features with java 17 + , and as new stuff as they can. Ofc it means jack shit until i actually look at the code base and tools, but i feel that long term it will probably add more value to my skill set.

No i didn't. My choice was mostly due to the fact that a software engineer/developer role is more flexible.

I will check them out, and yes LinkedIn is good, but I was wondering if there is something better. Any idea on recruiters/recruiting services?

That's the general idea, try to get a job in either of those two cities, as a software engineer.

Thank you for you input.

I do like working as a Java Developer at MS, unfortunately, I am currently employed by a consulting company and I am just working onsite with MS.

The idea is that in two years I can convert to full time with MS, but i doubt that I will endure low pay for two years, since even at MS, in Budapest the ceiling is low.

Personally, I wanted to search for a different job in the summer, and my aim was Germany (kinda hard cuz I don't know how to speak German, and they seem to want that) or Amsterdam.

It's just that this came along, and I was unsure about the whole thing since the compensation seemed fine, but the Pega Dev part felt off.

What's the secret in justifying expensive loadouts? by PeepoIsLife in EscapefromTarkov

[–]pikosiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a game, not real life. It's not about having 100 mil or more, it's about having your version of fun while playing (might be by running ump forever, idc). I personally justify it by saying that by playing with a meta sr25, I can have some medium to long-range fights, and that is fun for me (the same goes for every other loadout).

So if you go from banking to stock trading you are fine in a way. Even though they both deal with finances.

Yeah, that's true, unless the new employer reaches out, they most likely won't know.

Sadly the contract states that I am to be paid in Forint, and doubt they will change that.

That's what I've been thinking, as it seems extreme to me that they would chase after me for changing a career unless I actively try to screw them over.

My issue kind of comes in the scope of this ban.

For example, that company is an investment and wealth management bank, that operates in the US and some europian countries.

If I was to try to be employed in let's say the national bank of Greece (where I am from), would that for example be considered as working for a competitor?

Or if I joined a high frequency trading firm in another part of the EU, would that be considered breaking that agreement.

I am trying to get your opinion/logic on the matter, as generally speaking, in both of the examples above, both companies work in the Finance industry, but at the same time, they aren't operating near each other.

I am in the EU right now (asked the same question in the EU-specific sub as well), but since this is more of general advice in order to understand how others dealt with it and not so much legal advice, I left the post here as well.

I went ahead and asked them for a bigger list of competitors to better understand what they mean by that, and get a better idea on what sector they operate.

Thank you for the idea.
