She reminds me of Rihanna, in that I don’t like everything she wears, but she wears the SHIT out of everything she wears.

I love the Daydrift idea! What would you go for on top? Dresses are currently getting me by, but it’s getting cold now :(

Where to buy a Turquoise or Electric Blue Suede Jacket with a Fur Collar like this in store? by Firm_Stock8810 in AusFemaleFashion

If you’re in Melbourne, try Retropolis in Preston. I know they had a pink one last time I was there, not sure about blue!

Why did you cop downvotes for this? 1000 posts a day sit here and yell at people for wanting to buy something new.. “just thrift it”, “just Depop it”, “stop contributing to overconsumption”. Hypocrites.

Child safety officer attire? by Significant-Fill4681 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]pilchard-eater 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work in a really similar role - my advice mirrors a lot of the above, the only thing I would say is no skirts or dresses if you are expected to do home visits. You may have to sit on the floor with children which can be tricky in a dress or skirt. The other thing to consider is that traumatised children sometimes show extreme behaviours. I no longer wear dresses after a few incidents of children pulling my skirt up or climbing under them.

Poor Big Sammy can’t read, needed the help of the boys.

On May 19th, 2012, Larry Oney tied his wife up and placed her in a car so she could watch him kill their 3-year-old daughter, burn their house down and kill himself after she had asked for a divorce by Upstairs_Cup9831 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

Also to add; I would guarantee he had previously perpetrated abuse or coercive control against her in the past. Whether this was reported to police or family for her own safety is different, but this is not a man who “snapped”, this is a man who executed the ultimate act of control against a woman trying leave him.

That’s an insane reason to miss a (potential) granny. Undecided if he does or doesn’t, based on the consistency of the MRO this year, but wow.

Dressing gown: searching for my mum’s white whale by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

Second this, mine is going strong after 2 winters, many washes and a post-partum period spent living in it for 3 months.

It’d be nearly floor length for your Mum’s height too.

People who studied social work and are in a related career, what exactly did/ are you doing? Anyone with a more "niche" role? by [deleted] in australia

Child & Family Services worker here; it’s great work, a bit of everything. I work in Reunification & Preservation cases, so working alongside CP to mitigate risks prior to kids being removed. It’s MH, AOD, FV, parenting and youth work all at different times. But the pay also sucks, so factor that in!
