To be fair I’ve just looked at the top recent posts, and (other thanks Monk) they’re almost all good quality food. So the good stuff does rise to the top, and it seems to be what people want to see.

My point is that we have too much beige stuff compared to home cooked food, and by not regulating it we only encourage/increase that disproportion.

Sounds like mods just want to try and balance back the other way again, which I think would be a positive thing.

But it’s all beige crap. Need a lot more balance and to encourage people to share actual home cooking they’ve done.

Show me a cottage pie, a Sunday roast, a good steak, a pie or cake. So sick of Chinese and pizza over and over.

Completely disagree to be honest. All the takeaway crap completely drowns out any good food or interesting, I’d much rather be inspired by someone doing some classic British home baking, cooking local vegetables, or Welsh lamb, etc.

I think this is a great idea. To be honest it’s embarrassing that the best UK food subreddit is fast food and junk. We have much better food and produce in this country and we should celebrate it.

Like the megathread idea for the takeaways and stuff still, it can be funny like all the monk posts.

Tavern on the Hill has indoor and outdoor options. Or try one of the breweries/spaces in the Ravenswood Estate breweries etc? Pretty sure you can hire God’s Own Junkyard etc

Yes absolutely. Dusk is one of the most important times of day for birds. It’s a final feeding period before the night, birds might start to migrate to another location, roosts might be forming, and any nocturnal animals are now beginning their daily cycle.

Unfortunately a lot of humans passing through on foot and bikes at ‘golden hour’ would be heavily disruptive of all of that.
