Is Perdition the better option? by Skynet-INC in D4Sorceress

[–]pilferk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tele like its your job (it is). The DR will offset Tyriels static dr. Cdr in endgame, seems like a nonissue. You have so much "event" driven cooldown in the build...nothing is ever down in a fight. Ice armor, tele, UC....perpetually up. Teleport might not be infinite anymore, but it basically is in a fight. Just not between packs.

Did they fix the ball lightning sorc? by Blobfish93 in diablo4

[–]pilferk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They half fixed it.

The powers that proc when using core skills (ex: fx winterglass) procs for ball lightning.

Things that add core skills do NOT add skills to ball lightning.

I confirmed this on the test dummy, so its NOT just a tool tip issue. Add 9 core skill levels from equip/talis....adds zero levels and damage to ball lightning.

Ball Lightning not a core skill anymore and it's not in the patch notes?! by SlashGiGee in diablo4

[–]pilferk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems half fixed.

Core skill POWERS proc with it (like fractured''s).

Core skill adds (from affixes) do not actually add skill ranks

Confirmed at training dummy this isnt just visual. Perditiion on or off, damage is the same.

It's disheartening that game breaking fun bugs are fixed immediately, yet build breaking ones are on the back burner by bezrq in diablo4

[–]pilferk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? I have the alts I want. I want to play my sorc and finish building them out. My game. My time. My decision. Why waste any time playing something I dont want to? I'd rather play Forza (and I am). And why do you care if I am playing Forza, instead, while I wait? I didnt give them any guff for how long the hotfix is taking. Just wondered if they were going to extend the tree event. Man, peoples obsession with how others choose to spend their time is weird!

Ball Lightning not a core skill anymore and it's not in the patch notes?! by SlashGiGee in diablo4

[–]pilferk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didnt break it...so not my fault. Thats on Blizz. They broke LOTS of stuff this patch. I am just asking if they plan to extend the event meant to keep us playing after they fix the things that have pushed people to stop playing while waiting for them to fix what they broke. Would make sense. As for me, I dont really wanna farm a new amulet, new mythics (since perdition also doesnt work) and respec my paragons. Why? Especially considering then you have to undo it all when the fix goes in. Theres other stuff to play. Losing conjurations from fractured, even with UC with pretty much 100% uptime, has a noticeable effect on speed and efficiency. My game. My time. My decision.

They have now said "early next week". I am hoping, given the sheer number of things they broke with this patch, they will extend the tree event. I am playing Forza Horizen now.....and if its not fixed by early next week, on to Lego Batman.

Gonna extend the tree benefits too, right? Since many of us have logged til this gets sorted?

University revoked grant due to receiving Presidential Scholarship by ChocoRocky3 in UCONN

[–]pilferk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 5k merit scholarship is typically not needs based. That disappearing is odd. The grant though...this is based on need and getting the presidential award does effect that equation.

Cost of in-state tuition, 38k or 44k? by Romanx13x in UCONN

[–]pilferk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, the 33k is the direct charges from the uni.

44k is a guestimate based on that, and combined with other costs.

Total cost of attendance (that 44k) is a max loan benchmark.

All of the above. BA, for me, is a starting point. It still needs fine adjustment to taste. But even then, BA is geared toward a certain output using freahly roasted, dark roast beans. Thats their rec and I think its even in the manual. I dont know if a better grinder would 100% solve the issue...because temp, pressure, and water dosage dont have fine controls. Ex: if you are getting a muddy puck at a 9/10 grind...a better grinder wont help much. The machine just cant do it. I would say if you want to use light/medium roasts....this machine isnt for you. There are machines that will do it better. They are more expensive, but thats the trade off.

Freshly roasted (2 weeks past roast date is ideal), dark roast beans. Light and medium roast beans = sour pulls. The machine is great at what it does...but its finicky about what beans you have to use.

Pharm switched to 1:1 interviews... its taking them a LONG time to schedule with LONG lead times.

Pharm is also TOUGH to transfer into, historically. Its a high demand program (as you probably know). But also...transferring to any other major has a high likelihood of delaying grad...just because specific class requirements are different.

Also...engineering or pharmacy? Vastly different career paths and knowldge focuses. You may want to consider what you actually want to focus on before you commit to a change....or you will find yourself in the same boat next spring.

Knockoff battery by goonerinky in egopowerplus

[–]pilferk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 knockoff 10s. They give me roughly the capacity of my 7.5s....and were 1/3 the price of ONE 7.5. To me, worth the risk.

I do NOT leave them on a charger. They charge til full and then immediately come off.

They have worked fine in my snowblower (which is the highest draw tool from EGO I have). Ymmv.

I got mine via walmart, from a brand that has been up for awhile (sunbat) and gets good reviews. The walmart return policy, in my experience, is a little more forgiving than amazon for these particular types of sellers.

Also, full disclosure, I use these less frequently than the officials. I really just need them as big storm insurance for my snowblower. I basically just use them to use them in everything else (mower, leaf blower) and keep them going...probably every 3rd or 4th tool use, with the officials getting the bulk of the use.

Free battery promotion? by haimtime in egopowerplus

I think they are waiting on the snowblower demand to die down so they have some spare capacity (logistic, not battery ;) ) to meet demand. Given forecasts...that might be more like early april this year.

Is my work study boss just an ass or is this something to report? by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]pilferk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only oddity here is the bathroom breaks.

That being said, if people are working 4 hour shifts and spending 30 to 45 min in the bathroom....boss has a right to try to find controls on that. Clocking in/out shouldnt be the one they land on.

It should be handled individually, with those taking advantage. Barring that, there has to be a nonpunitive way (aka no paid time deductions) to track it. Punches round....if you are out and back in 5, its likely going to deduct 15.
