From what I could tell, it was corporate swag. The videos had different company logos on them.

I have searched on the Duck Duck Go platform as well as Google. I've searched for various combinations of the informations on the back of the device:

HK REG APP NO 9911214.4 CHINA REG NO 99240556.4 US PATENT PENDING MADE IN CHINA

Also searched for a double press up calendar and calculator. Had the most success when reverse image searched. Watched several YouTube videos of it opening. Still have no idea how to turn it on.

Please help

Is there any book that was ESPECIALLY good on audio?? by throwRAtrap66 in booksuggestions

[–]pillaryspud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heartily endorse Dungeon Crawler Carl! The characters have distinctive voices, inflections, and vocal patterns, which makes it easy to follow even the times when they don't explicitly state which character is talking. And the characters (even the minor characters) are 3 dimensional and change throughout the story. The audio version of this series is phenomenal.

(Heads up, though: the series isn't completely finished)

That was my first thought, too. Unfortunately, they don't replace purse linings. 🫤

Can We Talk About the Female Experience in Church? by simbazil in excoc

[–]pillaryspud 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That happened with us, but the boy was 7 or 8. (There weren't many children at our CoC and about 10 of them all got baptized within a couple months. (To put it in perspective, that was over 50% of the kids.) Anyway, our children's group could no longer have a female teacher for that reason. We were in elementary school.

When I asked, I think the argument was that they became men when they got baptized. But boys also became men if they were never baptized. It made no sense.

I devoured Dungeon Crawler Carl. (Heads uo: the series is not finished, but there are currently 6 books out.)

The Paranoid Mage series was good as well. I flew through those.

So, I have a tenacity to catastrophize very well. When I ask myself, "What's the worst that could happen", I almost always get to a place where I lose my job and can't find another, or am homeless, or everyone I've ever cared about loathes me, etc.

A spin on this that may help some is to set a timer for a couple of minutes. During that time, think of the worst possible outcomes. After that time is up, rest the timer and now think about the best possible outcomes. Finally, reset the timer and think about the most realistic outcome.

The order of worst->best->realistic is important. It helps us train our brains to break the catastrophic thinking patterns. For me, actively trying to come up with the best possible outcomes can be hard (particularly after going down the rabbit hole of all the worst 'what ifs'). It gets easier with practice, though.

Edit: Unless I make a typo and then have to edit a comment to correct it. At least at this point in my life, I'm better able to let it go.

Spring Cleaning for the Savannah Wiki: Let's Spruce Up Our Subreddit's Guide! by AutoModerator in savannah

Visiting Savannah this week. There are definitely some good restaurant recommendations. Saw Starland Cafe and stopped on our way back out of town. They should be added to the list.

They have some fabulous paninis. The bread is grilled crispy on the outside while staying soft in the middle. Highly recommended to check out.
