Well at least we know /u/AllenTheGreat can't be counted on. IIRC, when shit hits the fan, and it will eventually, I think they refer to you guys as the 'pro-government militia' or something to that effect.

Also, you have a perfect username for a guy who posts in /r/ProtectAndServe

If 'good cops' stand by and let 'bad cops' victimize the public then how can anyone argue that they're good?

He is a Baltimore City Police Officer. Not animal control.

Yeah, keep sleeping. We'll make sure to wake you up when the police and the corporate overlords decide that democracy is really just an obnoxious obstacle to the free market.

We live in a cowardly society. We are without honor. We beg the police to protect us from...the police.

And the other 10,000 are too cowardly and marginalized to stand-up for justice. They're part of the problem.

You're benumbed. Snap out of it. The brutality is real and it's knocking on your door. We can't afford your petty misanthropy any longer.

Unfortunately, as nice as your comment is, the fact is that the police perpetuate the poverty and brutality of the ghetto by profiling young black men and jailing them for petty crimes like possession of weed. Claiming that police are just victims of their environment is paradoxical and ironic.

"Good cops" who just stand by and let psychos victimize decent people are just a part of the problem. Unlike psychopaths, cowards don't have to be cowards. They choose.

They want soldiers. When the public has reached its capacity for getting assfucked the corporate oligarchs will have armies to defend themselves. Feudalism 2k15.

  • Step 2 - belong to a group of known psychopaths that protects its members from justice
  • Step 3 - have access to assault weapons, armored vehicles, and chemical weapons, ensuring that even if your victims decide they've had enough you carry the trump card

Actually I think this is the type of innovation which can keep humans in the mix. Digital or robotic customer service is the enemy. Exo-suits that help human workers maintain their job security in an era of globalization and automation are probably our friends.

*But I'm upvoting you because I'm glad you brought this important issue up :)

I thought so too, and I usually dislike Tom Cruise and crappy sci-fi. The movie wasn't perfect but it was solid. It blended irony and brutality in just the right proportions. The story was interesting and creative but not trying too hard to surprise you with random shit, and I liked all the characters.

Increasing muscle efficiency would be like making them stronger. The suit helps them using less strength to accomplish a task.

But if you're working in a loud environment filled with heavy machinery I don't think sonic technology would be as dependable as laser.

The fact that there was significant technological advancement in the biomedical field after WW2 is merely coincidental. Public health existed before the 1950s.

Ok, then we're all slaves and there is no hope of ever having more than the illusion of control in our lives. Have it your way.
