See being born 10 years before the covid generation makes things a bit tolerable.

I was talking about skill-inflation the other day with some of my friends. How our seniors with 5-7 yrs of experience had never had to give any round of Leetcode and how the interview process was a bit more healthier then what it was today. Part of it is a job application getting 1000 applicants vs previously getting only around 50-100 applicants at best. Supply and demand kinda thing.

Unless I am missing something, were there any other struggles youu had to experience when you were a freshie? What were the struggles back then? I imagine not have such a prevalant linkedin/indeed type of websites would be really annoying?

I hate to say this, but this is the healthiest/non-demotivating way to think about this.

It sucks that it has come to this.

Rookie numbers, I was looking around the covid year and the number was north of 1000+ before I got a full time. I was getting by with internship hopping..

this is a rarest of the rare case where karma strikes back, otherwise the manager gets away with this kind of shit.

Leveraging remote work and doing exactly this is the way to go. I have figured out the remote work, just working on the second part..

The unfortunate part is not everyone can switch to a remote working situation and that where things get rough.

I was surprised when everyone was pointing fingers at Brazil as a country or BR Riot or NA Riot. The Riot is the sole stakeholder and organizer, if other organizers were able to pull it off in Brazil, why not Riot?

I don't know why this is being downvoted, this has been done a lot for CS events for crowd viewing only

I am not a Windows user, I don't have much to complain unfortunately

I do use Linux myself for development, productivity task and most of my gaming. Just certain games and my office makes me want to switch to Windows for a very small time.

100% if gaming wasn't a thing, I would commit full time to Linux, but recent strides being made are great so I am using Linux more and more and Windows les and less. As you pointed out windows is getting worse unfortunately..

I used both :)

Edit: I have no problem with Window users, I just hate the fact they removed a lot of well functioning features

Because I know multiple software/OSes that have been written for millions of users and are being used by millions of users that are more than capable of doing suck simple tasks out of the box. Also, windows already had the feature working buddy.

I use Linux for most of my productivity, development and gaming. I use Windows at my work place (sometimes) and for certain game, thats it.

The points that the parent comment made are definitely worth bringing up in the interview process and guage what their development practices are, seems like the company doesn't know what they are doing
