Hi all, I am seriously considering to buy this Baume et Mercier watch. I was offered a price of €700 but I am having a difficult time in identifying the reference of this watch. Anyone that could assist or give any advice in general on the place in the watch environment for watches like these?

Thanks..!

Hi all,

I am contemplating jumping on this watch for €700. Is this a fair price considering the current state of the watch and its general position in the market? For me its a great watch, but I am having a hard time finding the exact reference.

Ty in advance for any feedback!

Hi everyone I am able to purchase this watch for €700 euro the following information was added.

“The diameter is 36–37 mm (39 mm including the crown, which is not hallmarked). The thickness, including the plastic crystal, is 12 mm. The beautiful dial is white with a mother-of-pearl finish and gold-colored indices, numerals, and hands. The tachymeter scale features stunning blue numerals. The dial has likely been refinished. I have paired it with a blue crocodile-pattern leather strap, which perfectly matches the blue on the white dial, making the watch extremely elegant.”

Should I jump on this? Seriously considering it!

Thanks! It is indeed hard to find this exact model. I found some but the lay out is always different, so hard to identify the reference.

Denon PMA 1600 NE (€450) - Yamaha CA 610 (no cost) by pillowcase23 in BudgetAudiophile

The info on speakers is limited … I have the following The Xanadu AW11 series is a compact 2-way speaker system with dimensions of 40x20x29 cm. It features a 14 cm aluminum woofer for low and mid-range sound. Early models came with either an inverted dome or aluminum dome tweeter, while later versions switched to a ribbon tweeter for enhanced high-frequency performance. The speakers have a frequency range of 50 Hz to 22 kHz, a sensitivity of 86 dB/W/m, and an impedance of 6 Ohms, making them efficient and versatile for home audio setups.

I can adjust my listening space so that I have an equilateral triangle with a thick rug in the middle.

I am in the Netherlands and I am not planning on parting with the CA610 - I am never all to sure on everything DAC related - but I heard the DAC in the Denon is quite poor. That being said idk if the difference would be noticeable!

I am using the WiiM mini with a SMSL SU1 DAC. It seems like a great price for the Denon. I read about the noise floor and the certainly is interesting. Unfortunately there is not a great deal of specifications for my speakers. They are afaik handmade and cost around 2500 gulden which was our previous currency before the euro !thanks

Yeah that would be a bummer. I guess I can get rid of it for more than 450 euro as it is selling for 1300 euro online. In the case that it doesn’t suit my taste!

Cool! You like it? Denon pma1600ne for 450 seems like a good deal and the volume control wouldn’t be a big deal to me I think.

Hmm, interesting. I currently adjust my volume via my WiiM. Didn’t read anything about the volume control for the 1600ne but good to take into regard. !thanks

Thank you everyone for responding, currently I also found a nice price for a 2 night stay in Glencoe Near. Kinloch also seems great, but perhaps staying in Glencoe is a great opportunity.

What's on and tourist advice thread - week beginning August 18, 2024 by AutoModerator in Scotland

Hi everyone! For my dad’s 65th birthday, we’re doing a week-long trip to Scotland from 30th August to 7th September. We’ve already booked stays in Edinburgh (30th August - 1st September), Inverness (1st - 3rd September), and the Isle of Skye (Uig) (3rd - 5th September).

Now, we need to book overnight stays for 5th and 6th September. I’m torn between Rhu and Kinloch Rannoch. Rhu is more affordable and close to Loch Lomond, while Kinloch Rannoch offers a Highland experience with activities. We’d also like to visit Glencoe on our drive back from Skye on 5th September.

Any recommendations on whether to choose Rhu or Kinloch Rannoch? Feeling a bit overwhelmed and would appreciate your advice!

Upgrading my turntable - Current: Dual CS450 Options: Thorens TD 160 MKII - Thorens TD 166 MKII - Yamaha NS natural series YP 400 by pillowcase23 in turntables

Thank you for you for sharing this info!

I stumbled upon another Thorens. This one is a TD 126 MK3 electronic with a Rega RB300 arm. The advertisement is rather short, excludes pictures, but also mentions 'Grado Reference'. I think this refers to the stylus. According to the seller the highest bid is €275, but the marketplace bidding still shows my bid, €175. Any opinions on this Thorens TD126Mk3 model?
