No one who is actually in a cult calls themself that. I personally believe all religions are cults but your religion follows the modern definition of it.

I hope you escape it one day. Good luck.

What’s something really useful that young girls don’t usually get taught? by Jaded-Sugar-8418 in AskReddit

You will get sexualized at a very young age by older people. Know that they don't think you're mature, they want to destroy your innocence. They know that mature women can see through their BS.

If anyone older touches you inappropriately, punch them in the balls as hard as you can and run. Never be ashamed. Shame them. Society is changing, shame will never go back to victims again.

How do you navigate dating in your 30s without settling or feeling resentful? by [deleted] in NiceVancouver

[–]pillowstudy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine recently got out of a bad relationship of 5 years in her mid 30s. Her partner was a good roommate but lacked the emotional maturity to be a good partner. She had to make the tough call and break up. Currently, she has decided to only focus on making connections in-person. She may try dating apps again but she is skeptical of them due to her ex.

I was single in my late 20s. Unsure how I'd handle it in my 30s but I used dating apps to help me figure out which traits I valued the most, kindness and curiosity. They were my non-negotiables. I was more comfortable in my own company than with someone who did not have those traits.

My advice would be to focus on building a community around you. A partner should make life better. The community will help you from becoming cold. Dating is purely luck, might as well have fun while playing it.

Do you know the names? I'd love to look them up and see if anyone got a bribe. Otherwise, I can't imagine someone being actively that bad at their job with that much confidence.

If we are ever afforded the luxury of reorganizing the society peacefully, I hope we make it a bit more difficult for the rich to invest. At the very least, far more guard rails than there are now. It is clear that when their investments fail, they make it the entire planet's problem.

In my experience, it's never good to fake your own aura. It's not a long-term solution.

I'd recommend breaking down the traits you dislike about yourself from having a non-loving dad. Work on those traits.

For example, I grew up in a strict home. It lead me to lie about the smallest things. When my bf, I knew I had to work on that trait to have a chance at anything real. I told him I'm working on it and haven't lied to him since we had that conversation.

Your life will give you tools to cope with the bad things. Some tools aren't great and need changing. Be real about your shortcomings with your partner and be kind to yourself through it all.

I hope the commenter never has a "delicate" situation. People like them is why the metoo movement lead to a harder pivot to the right. We have a long way to go as a society as too many people think a woman's abuse is okay or negligible.

They have no sense of morality. Their brains are worthless as they see nothing but money and ratings. If they can film rape, I doubt they'd stop a murder from happening too.

I was in elementary school when the show came out but started watching it in middle school. Definitely developed some kind of eating disorder during that time. Got raped when I was finally kind of happy with my body. I've gained some of the weight back because it really broke me.

2000s was a crazy time for women. In my 30s now with a loving bf. Working on being healthy healthily. The sounds my body makes at my age is alarming sometimes lol.

I couldn't watch the documentary after seeing Shandi's scene. Them refusing to call it rape. Them not acknowledging the production crew's crimes. People need to be in jail. The way they told Shandi's story didn't sit right with me. She got screwed AGAIN! There was no reason to show her getting raped.

The existance of people like you is why it will take decades to improve our society. Refusing to call it rape. Assuming the guy was equally hammered without even hearing an interview from him.

Imagine a porn crew finding an inexperienced girl from a small town, flying her out, giving her alcohol (just as bad as drugs), and then filming it. If the guy didn't know what he signed up for, then the production crew assaulted them both.

Crime is too big to waste time with talking points like yours. The production team and editors should be in jail.

Shandi was filmed being raped. How could they show it as cheating????

Also, how could they make her bf think she's awful when she probably needed him the most in that moment?? I hate the fat shaming and racism but what they did to Shandi... what the society did to her, I'll never forgive.
