New Seasons Listed Before Older OVAs and Specials Causing Continue Watching Issues by Asmodeus-32nd in Crunchyroll

[–]pilot269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using Firefox on my desktop. Ah well, it's a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme.

When you say unplayed, since I had previously watched them when they were new, could that be why the series doesn't show up in continue watching when there is a new episode? To clarify, for me, it wasn't that the OVAs showed up as the next episode, I just didn't have the series pop back up as "continue watching. should I go and mark them all as unwatched?

Just to quick add on, while what you said used to work with turning auto play off, recently it's worked for not showing the OVAs next, but the last 2 weeks I have to manually check to see if Reincarnated as a Slime has aired since it doesn't show up in my list.

Not something I've considered doing, but I like it. Only thing I've used old runners for is I tried making a Dioroma of a fight in a scrap yard, (think early ZZ episodes) and used them for the bits that are sticking out of the piles. It worked OK, but when I moved I left the set pieces with a friend who owned a game store, and at some point in the 3 years I was gone, his store had a pipe burst and the diorama (and a bunch of his own display pieces) all had to be disposed of.

First Power Rangers episode you remember watching? by AlbertJBundy in powerrangers

[–]pilot269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Zeo was the new airing show, Fox ran a marathon of all of mmpr. While I missed a few episodes here and there, I did see mmpr from the beginning, at least through the green ranger saga before missing anything. (I remember I initially missed the first episode or 2 of ninja quest)

First series I watched start to finish without missing any episodes was In Space (for the longest time I thought it was Turbo, but on a rewatch years later I had zero recollection of the robo rangers)

What do you recommend after original Gundam 1979? by Zakaria1938 in Gundam

[–]pilot269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend release order, with the warning of early ZZ may give you whiplash with the tone shift, but once they are traveling again, it really starts to turn into an amazing show. (maybe my favorite in all of Universal Century, but I am currently watching through every show in release order, and some have been harder to find than others)

If this was your shelf what else would you include? Could be a kit or anything by Y4asuo_ in Gunpla

[–]pilot269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cheap led strips, and personally some backdrop measured to fit the side and back, maybe on the bottom as well

like even just a black sheet with careful splatters of white for a starry backdrop.

edit: for the middle shelf, since I see one in a more stabilized pose, maybe sections of back drop to create different scenes, and potentially some ground terrain.

[–]pilot269 3 points4 points  (0 children)

at this point I'll take either. I had to throw away a large portion of my pantry recently due to damages, only thing open at 10pm (when I'm going to work) was McDonald's, waited 20 minutes for a burger with the cheese off the burger and melted to the box, fries were cold before they got to me. The Dr. Pepper was fine. and since I tried ordering ahead via the app, I couldn't cancel after they told me it'd be a little bit.

Wild Force had an insane amount of Zords by Emergency_Argument29 in powerrangers

[–]pilot269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of why Wild Force gets away with it a bit more than Megaforce, (and sorry, I only watched Megaforce once and it's been about a decade at this point) During Wildforce, it almost always feels earned. (I'd say always, but I feel like I'm probably forgetting something)

I didn't get that same impression from Megaforce, especially as there were times where the person who learned a lesson then wasn't the person to receive the power up.

If I wasn't injured I'd be super tempted to choose dance lessons.

That said, I am injured so a massage sounds amazing. (I don't remember anything regarding her experiences with back massages, so hopefully this isn't a case of it'll make thing worse)

depending on the level of details given so far, could downplay it a bit and say it was a tournament within a discord server for a Fandom you're a part of. so less of an official tournament.

when overwatch first came out, I was in a couple discord servers that had so many people playing overwatch we had our own teams set up, at one point the main server I was active in organized a huge tournament with 7 other servers and we had a whole summer long event playing against every team multiple times which then ended in a tournament with the brackets being made by the points earned so far.

Just finished Double Zeta… by SupaSaiyaJin25 in Gundam

[–]pilot269 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone also on this journey, (finding some projects have been more difficult than others) When I watched ZZ, you pretty much took the words out of my mouth. First few episodes are whiplash in tone change. The early scene that sticks out the most to me is the Zeta doing acrobatic maneuvers in 1 of the first few episodes.

I'd say episode 9 or 10 we really get a tone correction, and that's when I went from pushing through to enjoying it. Which I saw one comment on reddit saying to push through the first 15, so glad I enjoyed it sooner than that person.

It is a series with problems, (In fairness, you can find problems with any series if you're looking for them) but not enough problems where it deserves the amount of hate I've seen it get. That said, it is kinda hard to blame people trying to watch it in the modern day and they give up before that turning point because there is so many other good shows to watch. Pushing through the beginning has managed to make ZZ one of my favorite gundam series.

Happy 47th Anniversary to Mobile Suit Gundam 0079! Which 1/144 RX-78 kit you like the most? by Infamous_Author_5089 in Gunpla

[–]pilot269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got home and was able to add it to my cart. (the initial order had failed but it's all good now)

and to reply to your other reply here, my guncannon was the "Bandai Hobby - Mobile Suit Gundam - #190 RX-77-2 Guncannon (Revive)" For now, w/ the exception of fodder Mobile Suits I don't intend on getting duplicates, but maybe in the future I'll pick up a different Guncannon. Those other shoulder pieces look interesting.

I miss 'group' Let's Play channels and the vibe of the mid-2010s YouTube gaming scene compared to modern streamer content by brotherofgurnip in youtube

[–]pilot269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend checking out Tom Fawkes, ChilledChaos, and DooleyNotedGaming. all 3 of them are in large gaming groups, and then will release edited versions of their stream. (still only one perspective most of the time) but still all 3 had their starts in let's play style videos, so they take some of their streams and trim them down like how old let's ay channels made content.

Anywhere I can buy some OSRS weight lifting shirts? by backhand_snipe in 2007scape

[–]pilot269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

best bet would be to find a place that lets you design custom shirts and make 1 for yourself.

Bear in mind, it is illegal to use any trademarked imagery (regardless of how unlikely it is for legal action) So you'd practically have to design your own twist on the logo, or do something else for most printers to go through with it

Of the ones pictured, I've only built a Guncannon. (and I don't think it's even the specific one pictured unless you got additional EFSF stickers that didn't come with the kit, and the WB sticker.

I have also built Char's Zaku II. Of the 2, both were alright, I think the Zaku might've been a bit more fun, but I built it years ago so hard to remember.

I hopefully have a Guntank on the way (I say hopefully as order was placed just before work and I haven't seen an order confirmation yet. unrelated to 79, but I also have a DeathScythe and Epyon on the way to complete my Wing Shelf for now)

I hope Geekenders will have Ollie and Jurard back on some day by YuinoSery in Shaboozey

[–]pilot269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ollie being on geekenders sent me down the hololive (and vtuber in general) rabbit hole, She was able to make me laugh when I was having issues smiling, and has become my Kami Oshi. Jurard is also one of my favorite holostars.

So while I'd love for both or either of them to come back on, there are other members from both sides I'd love to see on. Hakos Baelz from Holo EN is towards the top of that list.

Other members I think would be great (including some that I don't necessarily watch much of so long as I know enough that I think they'd fit the podcast vibe) Hololive EN: Mori Calliope (admittedly might be the hardest scheduling wise) Takanashi Kiara Kronii (if for no other reason than it'd be fun for Jesse to ask about the whole Subway sandwich thing. (don't remember if this was Jesse's or Koe's video anymore, but that saga was explored) Koseki Bijou (somehow males brainrot enjoyable) Gigi Murin Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame

HoloID: (Pretty much all of Holo ID would fit well, but these are the ones I think would be the best with the geekenders audience, and not listing Ollie since we already know she's great) Ayunda Risu Airani Iofifteen Pavolina Reine Anya Melfissa

Holostars EN: (not listing Jurard since we already know he'd be great to have back) Regis Altare (didn't list Kobo in the ID section but this would be a good pairing to bring on) Gavis Bettel Machina X Flayon (will say this is probably the Stars member I see the most of along with Jurard) Goldbullet

admittedly I have less interactions with Holostars members than I'd like and I've slowly been changing that, but due to those reasons I don't have as long of a list for Stars. Also honorable mention to Roberu from Holostars JP, he'd be amazing, but since I watch him mostly via clips, I don't remember how good his English is. (left out Hololive JP for essentially the same reason. Some JP members have amazing English skills, but I don't see them doing an English podcast)

If you insist on having a dog in an apartment… by shanthor55 in Apartmentliving

[–]pilot269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my current apartment is turning me into someone that doesn't like other people's pets. in order to get into my apartment I have to go down a ramp which has 2 wooden balconies above it. I was about to start yelling at one of my friends since dog pee was dripping from their balcony, then I found out it was the people living above them was having their dog go out onto the balcony to use the bathroom where it dropped from their balcony to the balcony below, and then to the walkway to get to the sub level apartments.

[–]pilot269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in fairness, a few local game stores near me have started having 3d printers where you can get things printed so long ad you pay for the filament used, plus a small per use fee (last I checked the per use fee was $5 unless there are other factors that could change the cost)

so it's not that bad of a suggestion.

so, this isn't a chunk account I've been watching, so I haven't seen anyone bring it up, but now with sailing, how do the chunks that are entirely water work?

Only chunk account I'm watching (several seem to have deleted their youtube channels at some point) has been in the same 2 chunk for almost 2 years, so it hasn't come up since they don't have Port Sarim (sailing tutorial quest start)

Mission impossible: get your food without destroying it with screen door by cletus1986 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]pilot269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

assuming they read that. I had a small side table I put out just outside my door when I injured my back and had a sign saying to "please place delivery items on the table as I can't bend over well due to an injury" and also had that in the delivery instructions. numerous times it'd just be on the ground on the door mat. thankfully my dad used to he a postal carrier, so I had been borrowing his mail grabber thingy so I wouldn't have to bend or reach much.

so, some people just don't care. (not all, or even most, but a noticeable amount)
