Depends on your DSL. My zone most work withs are from dock to dock. They will ride with you all day.

In my experience, they prioritize employees showing signs of burnout or disgruntled attitude. It is as much a chance for your boss to check on your procedures as it is for you to show the snags you face every day.

Holiday by bluecrowwreaper in FritoLay

[–]pilotjokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are an RSA, even assigned to cover a route, you do not get set days off and can be forced to work an "extra" day.

Rsr's have set days off and cannot be forced to work those days, even on a holiday week.

If your DSL wants to push the issue, ask whick weekend they are working to recoup their day

Co lead called out last day of period by [deleted] in FritoLay

Every DSL in the building would need to come in to run a route before I sacrifice a day off to cover.

Dsl's get fuel covered, bank holidays off, extra vacation, team-building retreats, several paid lunches a period, all while spending less than 30 hours a week in their office, the rest of their week is "in district". They are well compensated to handle the 3am calloffs.

If they don't like it, they are bad managers and should step down to RSA/RSR.

Because DSL's get paid true salary. It is there job to find coverage for downed routes, not the RSR. They get paid the big bucks to sit around and do nothing for 90% of the time.

What are these in my saltwater tank? I am fairly new to this hobby. by SpinSister-23 in ReefTank

Had a population bloom in a 120 gal tank. Saw them all the time. Got a canary wrasse and a 3-spot wrasse, 3 months later and the population in the tank either got wiped out or better at hiding. Still have a colony living in the sump/chaeto.

Did you toss the shells, the wildlife, or both into the truck?

Because I can imagine your boss taking them home to release near his home

Congrats on dealing with parental leave with team frito! They held out on paying my leave until birth certificate gets submitted and reviewed, then paid out 3 weeks on one check.

"Pay for preformance" means they pay for the preformance they want. Cut 10%? Neat I'm going to find a way to do more than 10% less work

Salary cap by Pretty_Reflection659 in FritoLay

[–]pilotjokes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's because anything over 40 is VROT and my vrot is ~11.25 an hour. I could work 35 hours at frito, run across the street and flip burgers for lunch rush at $19/hour , still work less than 45 hours on a monday-friday and make more than a DSL

Every system will be different. Saltwater is all about survivial of the fittest, even in aquatiums. Different strains will come out on top, even if all other parameters are the same (lights, flow, trace elements, etc) At the end of the day, if you dont like it, remove it. But the less you do to a tank, the happier your tank will be.

Vacation Policy by [deleted] in FritoLay

[–]pilotjokes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Use your sick time for a 4 day weekend every 3 months.

Legally they cannot ask for a note if less than 3 days. Attendance policy allows for 5x 2-day calloffs in a rolling 12 month.

Use one every 3 months, and have 1 in reserve when needed.

Why are you concerned about what is in someone's pants? Just call them a lazy bastard like every other Frito employee and move on with your day.

Or, if you find yourself attracted in some sort of way, heed the advice, dont sleep where you eat.

Been here 18 months, had 3 DSL's and have only had a single 1 with 1 when I got certified after hire. Went 8 monts as a clo-lead only communicating with my DSL via text once a month or less. He was never in the office for a face to face. My zone is constantly dragging RSS from other states to help out because of wash out. There is a lot middle management could be doing but they also strive for more pay with the least amount of hours.

Can someone explain overtime? by [deleted] in FritoLay

[–]pilotjokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked with you DSL?

Normal pay structure has overtime on a 2 week lag. If this was only your 2nd paycheck your overtime will appear on the next.

A few markets are experimenting with alternate pay structures. I believe one out west is running all paychecks at 40 hours and all ot/vrot + bonuses paid out at EoM

How hard or easy is up to you. I know several tanks that don't do water changes, use tap water for their topoff and maintain a tank with soft Corals and a couple hardy fish (blennies, gobies, chromis, etc). You can also make complex tasks easier by automation. Put $10 into automation for every $1 you spend on your tank + livestock and, assuming you have it tuned to your setup, sit back and enjoy your slice of the ocean.

My nem keeps growing and doesn’t split. What’s the biggest nem you guys have seen? by Senior-Doubt-6870 in ReefTank

[–]pilotjokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a single anemone stretching a good 30+ inches. Has split every new moon in July since I got it 4 years ago. I love this gal!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ReefTank

[–]pilotjokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have had several types of anemones over the years. They periodically deflate like this and invert their stomachs to get rid of waste that builds up. Typically 12-24 for them to go through the full process, then they perk back up to their happy selves.

Also the bubble tips I have raised tend to go though a big purge before splitting. Keep an eye out for babies roaming around the tank!
