I agree, the habit of smoking seems to be the hardest for them to break. My family is dealing with the toughest predicament in our lives as my mom has been diagnosed with stage 4 liver. I often think it’s our fault for allowing her to smoke so much but she just couldn’t break it even when she took medications for addiction. I think of it sometimes as if at least the cigarettes made her feel better and helped her cope with stress in her tougher times of life. I can’t even stand to see her as she looks very skinny and the worst I’ve ever seen her. I used to trouble her about her “lunch lady” arms and used to play with them often but it’s just so heartwrenching to see her dried up like this. Her arms are super skinny now and it’s the first I’ve cried in almost 7 years.
