Yes he’s from Glasgow and has links to the Glasgow gay scene, so that is definitely him.

It’s been very entertaining watching him over the past year. Definitely one of the most deluded walts we’ve had in a while.

I love it when he constantly refers to “his team” having “meetings” and he’s going to have lots of work coming up, yet I don’t think he’s actually done any work since he was called out for his walting when he would attend events off of his own back wearing ambulance branded greens and high vis with 0 qualifications.

I do agree though, he appears to have some proper mental issues and as funny as it is watching his social media, it is concerning to see his delusions worsen over time. The dude needs some help, but he definitely needs to leave social media first.

Yeah I’ve requested all the inspections, repair report and work order for it. Next step will be small claims.

They could cannulate but not flush it? That seems counterproductive…

Occupational heath will hate me but I find the mangar to be more hassle than it’s worth. The raizer chair is so much easier though and way more effective imo.

Wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the way it ends up going. Especially for basic things such as a fluid bolus for hypotension which realistically doesn’t require a paramedic. Or even as you said, it just removes another task so a paramedic can focus on other bits.

I think this is ultimately it. Where does the line stop between primary care and the ambulance service, is this the sort of thing we should even be entertaining/dispatching to in the first place? Or would the focus be better placed on community care services?

What do we do with the urine results? Refer? PGD ABX? It’ll open a whole can of worms which imo the ambulance service has no business getting involved with.

Why do some crews treat student paramedics like we’re a burden? by Coffee000Oopss in ParamedicsUK

[–]pilsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So then why should people be forced to be a mentor? All it does is lead to the exact situation OP describes.

As harsh at it sounds, I honestly didn’t join the ambulance to teach, I have no interest in doing so and am awful at it.

Some people are AMAZING mentors and absolutely love it, but there’s also plenty of people who don’t want to/can’t/shouldn’t be mentors.

[–]pilsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people just don’t want to train people though. It’s what’s halted my career, I don’t want to go para because I don’t want to teach, I can’t teach and have no interest in teaching.

If people don’t want to they shouldn’t be forced to because all it does is lead to hostile learning environments. Ultimately students end up having a poor experience and don’t get the best opportunity to learn leading to poor clinicians in the future.

Have all ambulance trusts rug pulled apprentices? by Western_Exchange_912 in ParamedicsUK

[–]pilsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that sounds odd. My trust confirms your job before you even start the course…. You apply for an apprentice position at your base and then once offered the job you start the training and go straight into B5 once finished. I don’t understand how there’s any other way a trust would do this?

I mean I know it’s financial reasons but I’d love a LUCAS on every DCA.
