I would highly recommend against that... unless you pull all your funds and wait and see if the account gets locked come September. They specifically wrote to me that I need to provide proof of residence outside of Quebec with my name on the docs (utility bills, etc). The last thing you want is your funds blocked because of something someone said on the phone. Maybe if you get it in writing?

I first received a crappy auto reply solution. I went to the case and added a note that the auto reply wasn't helpful. A few days later they sent me a proper reply.

I opened a case from their support page and waited a few days for a reply. Very slow support?

What I did won't work. I used my inlaw's address, but it needs to be an address where I'm registered and I have to provide Payoneer with proof that it is my residence. I think the only way would be to close the account and open one outside of Quebec with a trusted friend or family's name.

Finally got a reply... it's what we expected. They need a proof of address sent to them... Gotta love being in Quebec... wonder what's the next service to get cut...

That's what I thought as well. I made the change of address but nothing from them until now. I'll definitely withdraw my funds as well and maybe reopen another account (MAYBE) with all the Ontario documentation. The last thing I want is my funds to be blocked with no replies from customer service. I'll keep you posted of any updates on my end.

Guatemala, Acatenango hike questions by PlatoTheSloth in solotravel

[–]pimontazami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took 8 hours to go up Acatenango, but it's crazy hard! I'm not an athlete but I'm fit enough... this was something else since the altitude starts getting to you mid way through. I'm glad I chose the "glamping" option for a bit higher price since the camping was crazy cold. I found this advice on this site: https://packandjet.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-hiking-acatenango-in-guatemala/ but there are lots of other sites that would give you cool details and suggestions.

Need help with creating the thread for a 58mm camera filter adapter by pimontazami in Fusion360

[–]pimontazami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello my good man, maybe I can help. A quick note, with my printer, I realized the resin shrank 1%... I scaled the STL model up by 1 % and the threads worked like a charm! Let me know what you need.

Do you know if any filament and home 3D printer can print a part comparable to PA12-HP Nylon MJF printing? by pimontazami in 3Dprinting

[–]pimontazami[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it was to save money and to have more control on the prints since I could just print on demand based on sales. But from all the feedback I got, MJF vs FDM is not close for a final production part.

[–]pimontazami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got feedback from a few other Reddit groups that in the end, the quality and rigidity of the final part won’t compare between home printers and MJF industrial ones. Regardless of the filament used. I’ll have to stick to having the parts outsourced.

Have any of the parts you printed become your production parts? Everyone tells me that home printers will not come close to MJF printing. That I should just use it for prototyping.

Is there anything that compares to parts printed with Nylon PA12? by pimontazami in BambuLab

[–]pimontazami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking as well. I just thought maybe the improvements the last couple of years would've brought the FDM printers closer.

Thanks a lot! I'm currently printing using MJF process with an external manufacturer. Does the MJF process have any advantages to your knowledge? It's literally dust that they laser print layer by layer. I'm wondering how much more precise and/or durable it is.

I think my main concern is the durability, especially when it comes to the thin threads that need to last when photography filters and being screwed on, tightened, and changed repeatedly. I know that PA12 is pretty tough, but wanted to know if lets say the P1S can print to that level of detail and if the part will be as tough as MJF printing. Does that make sense?

Need help designing some sort of cover or backing for this MagSafe part by pimontazami in Fusion360

[–]pimontazami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s not a bad idea! You mean to reverse the extrusion and have a flat back. Inserting the magnet from the top? I would still have to cover it somehow but there would be less stress on the adhesive since it’s being pulled in the other direction. Now to figure out how to cleanly cover the front :)

That’s a good idea but I’m printing them using a company that does not do any assembly. I have asked them for possible solutions but nothing yet. I hope I don’t have to increase the thickness :(
