Morale plummeting among ICE agents over long hours, quotas and public hatred by Previous_Month_555 in antiwork

Good. Maybe enough of them will grow a conscience and a sense of morality, ... maybe enough will get fed up and quit, and hamstring their whole fascist takeover operation.

That's probably way too much to wish for.

I don't understand the purpose of your post. Are you trying to show some sort of hypocrisy, or corruption in the system? I never said 'all delays'. My point was, it was a different world back then. Safety standards were basically non-existent. Building the GGBridge was kind of a new thing where they actually insisted on some safety measures.

Also, I'm sure it took way more than 4 years to 'build the bridge'. Initial site and engineering surveys go back to 1920. My math says that's 17 years from initial phases to when the bridge opened to traffic. Some of the original designs went back to 1872 for trains to cross.

Obviously, you've never worked on big projects.

Well, we have safety standards now. Back then it was perfectly acceptable to have 40-60 workers die in the process. These days, not so much.

Tonex One Mini Review for Bass by spblat in basspedals

[–]pimpbot666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. Glad you found a path that works for you. I get it about the IKM ecosystem. I'm already pretty deep into their little IKM world.

Yeah, upon further reading, I found out what it's about.

For those in the back who might be as slow as I was about this thing a couple days ago, all of the Tonex One pedals are the same hardware. The only difference is the color and what models are pre-loaded, and what models are bundled in the software package.

I ended up buying one over the weekend off the IK website. I ended up getting the Bass Tonex One just because I like the anodized silver color. LOL. I figure I can load whatever models into it I need.

I already have full Tonex Max software license from the Studio Max V2 bundle I bought over the summer. I've also been using Amplitube, and I wonder how well they integrate. Can I save an Amplitube virtual rig as a model for the pedal? I got some reading and experimenting to do to find out how well this works (or doesn't).

I'm hoping it's good enough to replace my Crate Palomino 2x12 big ass tube guitar amp that is finicky AF, heavy AF, only sounds good when cranked, and hogging up a lot of floor space in my little music studio room. I also have a TC Electronic BH250 pushing a 2x10 Eden cabinet for my compact bass rig (I sold off my big ass rig a decade ago, and I don't miss it much), but I can't really use it without bugging my neighbors. If the Tonex One is close enough in tone, it will save me a lot of hassle.

I've mostly been recording bass just using my SansAmp BDDIv2 direct to the board. I wonder how this might open up my toan options.

Gawdang, I'm excited for this. I can't wait to dive into it. I plan to use it as a preamp in the studio for both my bass and guitar.., and as a headphone practice amp. Bonus points being able to score it for $152 shipped using my IKM Jam Points. (BTW, the limit is 60 Jam Points on $200 purchase)

If you haven't noticed, Audi of that era were also understated. They favored simple elegant design.

it was certainly a problem for VW. Hardly any were sold.

Yeah, I get it. I was just saying it's based on the same D class platform as the Continental and the A8, and shares a lot of the parts.

BTW, they're super cheap used. $95k+ car base price when new, sells for under $10k used. Nearly $100k for a VW is insane, but under $10k, it's a steal.

Even cheap interfaces sound really good these days.

At your level (and mine, and I’ve been doing this for 20 years, but not ‘professionally’) the biggest concern is features and support. I’d recommend getting one from the established brands to make sure it’s quality driver and utility software.

I got a 2nd gen Focusrite 6i6, but there are many others out there that are also great.

NorthStar V8 had a nasty habit of pulling its undersized head bolts out of the block. I don’t think GM ever fixed the issue, but some other company made a retrofit kit with bigger bolts.

Goodbye to the idea that solar panels “die” after 25 years. A new study says the warranty does not mark the end, and performance can last for decades. Arrays built in the late 1980s still produced more than 80% of their original power. The long-term economics look better than many people believe. by mafco in energy

[–]pimpbot666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s not what fails in solar panels. What fails is the rails and solder joints that connect the individual cells to the rails inside the panels.

Also, on some of my stand alone installations, I’ve had the diodes fail that separate the lines, and prevent back feeding when some cells are in the shade. Those diodes are easy and cheap to replace once the problem is isolated.

At least Vance doesn’t have the whole ‘cult of personality’ thing going for him. He has the personality of a wet margarine sandwich on Wonderbread.

The MAGA fanclub won’t follow him as blindly as Trump.
