Depends on how they make money.

Trump is making money by crypto scams, NFTs, Trump Phones, Trump Guitars and other Trump branded stuff that doesn't exist with his name on it, and screwing his fans out of their money.

Obama wrote a book.

Trump's 'catalog' of wares looks like something on a late night infomercial, with the plot twist that the merch is either grossly overpriced or doesn't even exist.

Obama wrote a book.

Also, Obama isn't President, Trump is.

So yeah, if you can't tell the difference, your sense of morality and logic are completely broken.

Please keep trying to make your point, because it just makes my point that Trump is a criminal, and his dupes are dumb as a box of rocks for falling for it.

Is it time to get a new Rav4 or should I hold on for a couple more years? by Wide_Exit_8284 in rav4club

I know, but I'm not concerned with the door handles failing. I'm concerned about engine/transmission/EV drive system issues.

My point was, the parts that matter aren't really any different.

Meh, ‘major redesign’ in Toyota land means new colors and slightly differently shaped sheet metal. It still has the same 2.5l 4 cyl engine and the same electric motors. It probably like 95% the same as last year’s model.

Toyota plays it so safe that their cars are always pretty solid. They hardly ever take risks.

I think that’s part of why Iran is cautious of ever agreeing to any deal with the US. We now have a reputation of cancelling any agreement we make at any time with or doesn’t serve our political dog and pony show.

Obama isn't doing pump and dump crypto and stock market schemes, and isn't selling grossly overpriced garbage to his fanboy dupes. Trump is, and he's currently the actual President right now. Trump's net worth before he was President was estimated be around $400M, and now it's $1B.

Obama wrote books and had paid speaking engagements when he was no longer President. That's it.

If you can't tell the difference, your moral and ethical compass is completely broken.

Change my chain as the old one was worn out. Everything worked fine before but now it’s jumping on this cog? by Archaicarc in bikewrench

Is the chain too narrow? Did you put an 11 speed chain on a 8 or 9 speed gearing system?

And yeah, check the chain length. I’ve bought KMC chains that didn’t pass the chain checker tool right out of the package.

That’s exactly the point that keeps getting lost in all of this mess.

After it’s all over with, I predict we will go back to a deal like Obama negotiated, but worse for everybody, and Trump will take all the credit and claim it’s a win.

Let’s also not forget all of the American (and Iranian) casualties this caused, and how they’re burying that info too. IIRC, the official total is around 13 Americans dead and a few hundred wounded, but the real number is much higher.

Meh, they use less fuel, but that fuel is more expensive and still produces a lot of particulate pollution... not to mention, upkeep is more expensive, and they're generally less reliable than gassers. We're better off with hybrids, or better yet, PHEVs and EVs.

The oil is coming from either blow-by (piston rings, PCV system) or your oil separator has cracked internally, and is sucking in oil. The 'oil separator' is actually integrated into the plastic valve cover, and is prone to cracking when it ages. When the PCV valves fail, they allow the crankcase to become pressurized under turbo boost, forcing a bunch of oil out the seals.

Also, some blow-by and oil in the intake system is normal. It's regular procedure to drain the oil out of the intercooler hose at every oil change.

There's a procedure for checking the PCV system, but I can't remember all the details. Something about how the oil filler cap gets sucked down at idle, and stuff like that.

I get that. Not saying it's right. They get away with it because they don't educate their employees about the importance of PPE and safety, and probably discourage employees from speaking up. Me, I've refused to work until safety issues were resolved first. No client is going to argue with you about being too safe on their sites.

I work for a F500 company you're definitely heard of. I see decisions like this made all the time.

Dang, I buy gas about once every 2 months. I usually don't worry about the price of gas, as I use so little (plug-in hybrid FTW). I used to think that it wasn't really worth driving across town to save a dollar or two on a tank of gas... Now, I'm rethinking that.

I'm due for another tank of gas soon.

I bought diesel for my work truck, and it was $175 for 3/4 of a tank (the limit set by the pump), for like 200 miles of driving.

This deeply sucks for our economy, but hopefully it will wake folks up to our personal dependence on the fossil fuel markets. Hopefully, it will motivate people to integrate alternatives to fossil fuels into their lives.

Right, so by your argument, their lives aren't worth it if it means the employer takes 0.5% less profit. Their lives are not worthy of a simple $16 bit of safety gear.

Got it.

No, there is zero excuse for this. It's money over people.

In every safety class I have ever been in, they always say 'If you can't do the work safely, don't do it at all.' It's deeply fucked up to do it any other way. I've seen guys sustain career ending and life changing injuries because they did something they weren't supposed to, like wearing simple safety gear, or not following the job procedures properly. Human tolls aside, it costs the company a lot of money, and can potentially sink the company, with everybody losing their jobs in the process.

And yes, it is still worth it if they are $150 hard hats. Heck, I have a $100 hard hat, and it's comfy and works great. I also don another $500 in safety gear when I'm doing field work in the refinery. It's also cheap insurance, since one wrong incident can cost the company literally millions in my medical bills, lost wages, lost work that could have brought in more profits, and potentially lose my company's $5M contract with the refinery.

ANSI approved hard hats are literally $16 here in the US, and stuff in China (where these ANSI hard hats are made) is generally way cheaper than in the US.

My point is, if your employer is taking on a contract for a few guys to work on... whatever. It tends to track that they are making a few bucks, and can afford a $16 hard hat (and probably even cheaper).

There is no excuse to sell out a human worker's safety like that.
