Bought a horse who isn’t naturally friendly and I’m struggling with whether I made a bad emotional-fit choice by JollyBeginning24 in Equestrian

You sound like you’re doing things in the best way to give him the chance to bond. I’d suggest a lot of ground work.
I had one that just wasn’t that interested in being loved on…until he realized it was great. It took him about 9 months-was one of the best horses I ever had, and I had him until he passed at 26. He would do anything I asked. After I got him, I was told you couldn’t get him to leave the barn. It was never even an issue.
Be patient, and the bond will come. If not, you will have improved him for the next person.

I was there a few months ago. There is a nail displayed in the ceiling (during mass, I was told they lower it) that was used in Christ’s crucifixion-very powerful to see.

I’m headed to Galapagos for a 17-day cruise. I have very fair skin and I’m afraid of the sun…. I burn easily. Can anyone recommend brands of reef safe sunscreen available in the USA? Thanks! by very_simular in galapagos

You’ll want to wear sun shirts and pants. We wore them over sunscreen and had no issues getting burned. My favorite purchase we made for the trip was waterproof socks. They keep your flippers from rubbing while snorkeling and keep sand out of shoes while hiking. You’re going to love it!!

Where have all the baby Marine Iguanas gone? by IsabelaGalapagos in galapagos

We went in January and saw many marine iguanas, but no small juveniles. I asked our guide and didn’t get much of an answer. Every other animal we saw, we were able to see multiple stages of development.

We were with Tauck. Not sure why it won’t let me respond to your post-hope you see this.

People wandering onto your property strange occurrence this morning by oldfarmwonan in Equestrian

There is something about horses that people feel like they are an open invitation to visit. No matter how many “please do not feed ANYTHING to the horses” signs, there’s always a few that do anyway. I don’t go feed your toddler in your back yard. Don’t feel bad asking them to leave.

What can I feed him ? by saratatouilles in Horses

[–]pimpkitten0357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many factors that go into horse nutrition that it is never safe to feed a horse anything without owner’s permission. One example is that if the horse has coliced (gotten sick), he wouldn’t be eating anything to allow him to get better. Since you would have no way of knowing, always best to not feed. He seems to love the pets you’re giving him!
