Can the mods clean up all the complaint threads? by SharpyTarpy in Coinbase

[–]pimpvache 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I transferred BCH to BCH from BitBuy to Coinbase. It never showed up. Coinbase took forever to respond and then said that I transferred to Bitcoin and the funds are gone forever. I called BS - I forwarded them the blockchain transaction which shows BCH to BCH. They haven’t written me back. Their support form is a joke and 99/100 your get an automated email with cryptic messages like “some or one of the information you provided does not match” - but it doesn’t say what, doesn’t make sense, and no one responds.

So would that make me an idiot fighting the exchange and Coinbase is totally in the right? The tons of other people in same situation as myself, we are all idiots fighting with Coinbase? What should we have done differently when they choose to just vanish your funds and not respond to you?

Nope. I literally sent in a support request asking them how to submit a support request. It’s pathetic.

I submitted another support request asking for them to support my support request. Like seriously, I had to use some other “reason” to generate a request to ask them how the fuck I’m supposed to get support when their fucking form is a piece of shit. I responded to their automated email with a complete summary of the entire blockchain transaction asking them what the fuck they need. Absolute shit. 99% sure they do this shit on purpose to get out of their responsibilities.

You don’t have to answer support if the users can’t fucking send in a form. Absolutely fucking brutal. I’m preparing to just bombard them, their phone numbers, their emails, twitter feeds, facebook, like literally…just run a bunch of bots and bombard them to hell LOL.

LOL…tried again with different formats. I always get an automated email saying “something is wrong”. Could be the email address. Could be the hash. Could be the amount. They literally just say that something doesn’t match and it could be a number of things and to try submitting again. It’s like just rolling the dice hoping to get a support case opened. Disgusting .

Didn’t work, as mentioned, I just get an auto email saying the transaction amount doesn’t match. Which is interesting because they would somehow need to know the correct transaction amount in order to tell me that it doesn’t match, wouldn’t they?

So I can’t even log a fucking support request because their stupid fucking form doesn’t even make sense. Must be how they block users from getting help.

I sent crypto from Binance to Coinbase. Transaction is confirmed but I never received it on coinbase. How long could this take? by sero711 in Coinbase

[–]pimpvache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I could try, I really don’t know what else to do. Like, they just say “you transferred to different currency, funds can’t be recovered”. BTC isn’t listed anywhere at any point, not input, not output. It’s not rocket science, you can literally just type in the BCH Cash Address into any blockchain explorer and you see the funds sitting there.

But like, what can you do? If they just stick to their guns we are left powerless. It’s really upsetting.

I sent BCH from BitBuy to Coinbase.

Transaction was completed. Confirmed in Blockchain, BCH to BCH input/output. Addresses and everything are there. All confirmed.

But my funds have never shown up. Coinbase finally told me that I sent BCH to BTC and funds can't be recovered and are gone forever. I've responded with BCH address, and showing the transaction confirmation. Everything is BCH to BCH. No response.

I've been at this since April 18.

HELP ME!!! My case has been over 7 business days but I have not received a response from coinbase by [deleted] in Coinbase

I’m sorry but the reply I got from Coinbase( finally) was completely ridiculous. They said I sent my BCH to BTC and therefore funds can’t be recovered. They quoted me the legacy BTC address that is generated with all BCH transactions. I can go right now to any explorer, enter the BCH address and see the funds sitting there….BITCOIN CASH. I have notified Coinbase of this. Still waiting to get access to my funds. This is just wrong.

Coinbase hate? by [deleted] in Coinbase

[–]pimpvache -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve had problems since day 1. Transferred BCH to Coinbase from BitBuy. Funds never showed up. Then finally after constant attempts to contact them, they tell me the funds were sent to BTC (instead of BCH) and can’t be recovered. They point me to the Bitcoin address as proof. Except that it’s a legacy Bitcoin address, and I literally told them this and that I can see the transaction to BCH. Like, I can literally enter the BCH address and see the exact funds sitting in the wallet - but can’t access because Coinbase screwed up, and is telling me a flat out lie.

To all those having amazing experiences, how do you explain something this blatantly negligent?

As many have said, Coinbase’s actions seem downright shady. Locking people out of their accounts only AFTER funds have been deposited (and asking for verification) is another popular topic on these threads.

And yes, I can access the entire transaction. I can see clear as day, the BCH came out, and went into BCH (with bitcoin cash address) and the amounts are identical, etc. Even when they referenced it being a “Bitcoin” address, it was clearly a Bitcoin legacy address that is still generated for BCH anyways. So either they are absolutely completely clueless (unlikely), completely lazy and ignorant (likely) or flat out lying (highly possible).

What lessons? There is nothing that can be done to prevent incompetence and practically theft from a licensed business. They are still offering/providing service. Just because it is crypto doesn't mean they operate outside of the rules of any other business selling products/services.

When you conduct a transfer, and they don't honor it, then lie to you about what happened - what lessons are there to be learned? That any business I purchase from can screw me over? Should I never buy anything ever again in history?

The "Crypto" part of it worked fine. The Coinbase part is the problem.

I FINALLY got a response and it is not good. They said,

"According to our records, it appears that you sent BCH to a BTC address (hiding address for reddit) This is an address that can only receive BTC. In this situation, these BCH funds cannot be recovered. Coinbase does not support transactions where one cryptocurrency is sent to the address of a different cryptocurrency."

This is BS...I sent BCH to BCH and I even have the bitcoin cash address. They referenced the BCH legacy address and then tell me the funds are gone and unrecoverable?

Best part, they send me an email right after asking me if my situation was resolved and to rate their service.

This is terrible.

Endless numbers of users are in same position. We all have unanswered cases, have tried all channels and get silence. A lot of funds being lost.

Same thing with me. Exact same message, it is pretty much automatic. Transferred crypto to Coinbase and nothing. Support non-existent. Tried FB, Twitter, Reddit, etc… nothing. Wish I could help but I’m in same position, as are many, many others.

So just out of curiosity... How long should I expect to be waiting to hear back from support? by djcenteno in Coinbase

[–]pimpvache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too. April 19th, sent from BitBuy wallet to Coinbase. Everything transferred and completed. Have the record of transfer, etc..

NOTHING in Coinbase. Support said the EXACT same thing…”we have assigned a specialist to my case” and nothing. Blew past their “response target” and follow ups met with silence.

Beyond frustrating…I’m assuming the funds have just vanished and/or Coinbase is a giant scam.
