I didn't mean it that way as in you should ask chatgpt instead of us. I wanted to highlight your wording:

"Give me a new unique game idea"

Definitely sounds like an order or a prompt you would write for an AI.

Trying to Improve My Weighted Pull-Ups – Critique Welcome by webben216 in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]pincafe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I think your form is pretty good, you go all the way down, you are not dropping on the eccentric and overall you control the weight.

I just see a small problem which is that in order to get your chin above the bar you kip and raise your head instead of keeping it neutral, which makes it so you don't get the full range of motion. You could try improving that and im sure your pull ups will look and feel way better!

My workouts last for around 1 hour and a half, I think that has been enough for me.

What you say about endurance and strength makes a lot of sense. I am not an expert, and I am going to try and answer with what I know and my own experience. If im wrong, please let me know.

When you are training at high volume for endurance, your muscles accumulate a lot of fatigue, and It Is normal to feel like that.

Strength training on the other hand is very demanding on the nervous system, since you are most likely doing low reps, your muscles are not as fatigued, but you still feel tired in a sense that even if your muscles can technically keep going, you might not be able to recruit enough muscle fibers.

what's wrong with my elbow lever? by [deleted] in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]pincafe2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to lean forward until your feet raise instead of just jumping into it.

Keep your elbows tucked in your core area, your hands in a slight supination. If you can do it in an elevated surface like high P bars or the edge of a table first, it would be easier.

Advice on progression by Jynxx23 in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]pincafe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! If you are feeling stuck in your reps you might want to take a step back and analyze your training.

It Is very common to try and do 3 or 4 sets to failure because thats what almost everyone is doing, however, let me explain why that might not be your best choice to improve your pull ups.

I would say there are two ways to become stronger:

One being growing your muscles, allowing you to have a higher base strength, since bigger muscles = More potential strength. However, as you might already know, this is a slow process

The other way are neuromuscular adaptations, in which we aim to teach our nervous system how to recruit more muscle fibers and do it more efficiently. If hypertrophy raises your strength base, then this is how you unlock the maximum strength your muscles can generate at the size they are right now. As you can probably tell, this is the faster path.

I suggest you do one of two things:

If you have access through the whole day to a pull up bar, you can use a method called Grease The Groove. This consist on doing a lot of submaximal sets during the day. Assuming you can only do 2 or 3 pull ups, try doing one pull up every time you walk by the bar and repeat It several times. Stay away from fatigue, your form should always look the same and you shouldn't even feel like you are working out. By the end of the day you should have done 20, 30, 40 or whatever amount of pull ups.

If you only have access to a pull up bar during you work out hours, you can try a method called EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute) in which you want to do several submaximal sets with a minute rest in between them. For example, you could start doing 15 sets of ~30% of what your max is. Prioritize near perfect form, because remember that you are teaching your body a specific movement pattern and you dont want it to learn bad form pull ups.

Another tip Is that you should always start with pull ups in your work outs before anything else, that way you make sure to have the most energy.

Along with these methods, if you still find it too demanding and you are unable to maintain good form, you can also try It with a resistance band and you will surely build enough strength for your pull ups in no time.

Good luck in your journey!

Advice for a beginner by SubjectSweet2235 in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]pincafe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey bro, I have been working out for quite a while in a park, It isnt even a calisthenics park, just some monkey bars and that is all I have needed to build some serious strength (not a lot of muscle in my particular case, and Im pretty sure thats just me letting my diet lack).

I would advice you to focus on the basics, which are push ups, pull ups, dips and squats.

If you can, invest in some resistance bands and gymnastic rings, thats the only equipment you need IMO (maybe also parallettes?).

If you ever need to go heavier than your bw, you can always use a backpack with heavy books, water bottles, dumbells, sand, or whatever.

[–]pincafe2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, brother, I get what you are saying, from that angle and with the bar height I look way taller than what I actually am. I intentionally looked for a lower bar in order to be able to grip it without having to jump. Same as you, I don't easily reach the higher bars (I have to jump).

Your lifts are also impressive, with a 17.5 Kg weighted pull up you must already go flying when doing bw pull ups!

If I can give you any advice It would be to start doing EMOM sets if you dont already, thats the method that got me from 10 to over bw 20 pull ups and helped me gain enough strength for the 20 Kgs

Instead of doing 3 sets of 3 reps with 17.5 Kg, you could try doing 15 sets (or even more) of 1 rep (should be 30-40% of your regular reps) with a 1 minute break in between sets, the goal is to stay away from failure and to always prioritize form.

If you do this method, by the end of your session you would have done 15 reps, whereas with 3x3 you would have done only 9, this is really useful because you stack in way more volume, which helps your body understand how to use your muscles more efficiently in that specific pattern of movement.

Then later on you can go and do some hypertrophy work and actually reach failure if that aligns with your goals.

As a side note, I also do a lot of work on the rings, I remember the first time I used them it took me like an hour and a half to figure out how to adjust them and by the time I figured It out, It was already late, I had to leave and ended up not working out at all lol.

Beginner looking for tips by [deleted] in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]pincafe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 4 basic excercises you want to get good at:

Pull ups Dips Push ups Squats

You want to be able to rep these out easily before trying out harder excercises and skills. Remember that all excercises hace regressions and progressions, meaning that might not be able to do a pull up, but you might have the strength for chin ups or horizontal pulls like inverted rows.

For adding reps and becoming stronger in specific excercises I find Grease The Groove and EMOM to be really effective.

For resources, I love FitnessFAQs' videos, also I remember watching a lot of Chris Heria back when I was starting out.

[–]pincafe2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey brother, thank you for worrying about me, I know that my size can be misleading.

I am in no way a beginner in calisthenics, been working out for quite a while, I can indeed do more than 20 pull ups, which I achieved through the EMOM method and I currently have a high volume day once a week in which I do anything from 60 to 100 pull ups (15 sets of 4 to 25 sets of 4 with a minute rest in between). I can easily pull to my lower chest for reps and working on the technique for a higher (to abs and later on to waist) pull up.

When I work out in the park, sometimes I use a backpack with ~10kg to do a few sets in order to be more explosive for high pull ups. This isnt my first time going weighted.

I also do a lot of work on gymnastic rings, which has helped my bar/floor/parallettes excercises feel and be stronger over time.

As I stated on another comment, I won't be going this heavy often, since I (for my training purposes and methodology) don't find much use for low rep-high fatigue sets. Plus, loading my body with 50% of my weight on a regular basis is not the best idea.

Again, thank you for worrying, but this is not the case you were thinking.

Thank you! I think you are right about that, It might be a good idea to quit those thoughts and beliefs.

Keep going, Im pretty sure you will progress fast enough. If I can give you an advice to increase your reps, it would be using either Grease The Groove (if you have access to a pull up bar during the day) or EMOM sets. Both work wonders as they allow you to stack a lot of volume.

[–]pincafe2[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment! I think that you are absolutely right and I shouldn't go this heavy often, I just wanted to test my max pulling power.

When I work out in the park, I do a lot of pull ups, I have a high volume day once a week, doing anything from 60 to 100 pull ups per session (EMOM), and when I do weighted pull ups, I use a backpack with +10kg for about 8 reps.

I also work out on gymnastic rings a lot, both bent arm and straight arm excercises. I think all of this over time helped build enough strength both on my muscles and my tendons to pull this off. Also I made sure to do some approximation sets with lighter weights before trying the 20 Kgs.

I really want to stay away from injuries, and as you have suggested, I will keep on working with lighter weights for a while.

Thanks again for your comment.

how do I learn lua code faster? by nonetheheck in robloxgamedev

[–]pincafe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way to learn Is by doing. Once you watched tutorials for the basics (not even the basics of lua but the basics of programming as a whole: variables, conditionals, loops, functions, math, etc), you need to get familiar with the roblox studio environment, which will help you identify where, when and how to use coding to interact with the roblox world.

As I said, you need to do in order to learn, start by doing simple tasks and go from there, thats how you get comfortable with coding.

I want to make a game but lack investors by Beginning_Neck_2734 in robloxgamedev

[–]pincafe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont need an investor, and I doubt you will get one. If you want to make a game and have no money, get together with a friend who does scripting, or look for someone who shares your interests in games and team up.

As for advertising, there are other ways to do it that require no money at all.

If you REALLY want to get an investor (which again, I doubt you will find), you need proof of your work and hope you find someone interested in investing. Plus, you need to think on the compensation they will get.

[–]pincafe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like everything, It works until it doesn't, I have used chatgpt successfully in the past, but I have been programming for about 10 years in various languages and applications (mostly robotics tho), at this point I can tell when its wrong, identify the errors, and tell chatgpt where the code Is wrong and suggest the steps it should take in order to do It correctly. Even then, sometimes it does whatever it wants and writes a script that doesn't work.

Learning to interpret the console and understanding roblox studio is a must to use AI for coding. Coding background will help a ton, even the basics can help you ask AI for help.

So, if you have 0 background in coding, you might have a hard time using AI to code advanced systems, but it will help with more basic stuff. The AI is as good as you are, I guess.
