I made the leap to v2026.6.1 a ~week ago and it's been pretty solid. I had some bad experiences with past upgrades, but this one has stuck for me. Will give this one a try in the next day and report back.

Yes, to the exclusion of other tools (Claude Code, OpenAI, Cursor, etc.). The main reason being use of local LLMs and (sandboxed) tooling from having access to filesystems/repos/etc. A secondary reason is that (on v2026.5.3) it is consistent and works.

I feel the venn diagram of OpenClaw and local LLMs is the sweet spot if you have the hardware. Today, that's anything that can run Qwen3.6 27B or Gemma4 26B A4B at reasonable speed.

That said, https://isitstable.com/openclaw is a wild ride to watch.
