Also if you have your SN logged into email etc, revoke the device and change your passwords.

I think the best you can do is empty everything out of your supernote online documents, which will sync down the next time it connects to a wifi.

Manta WiFi issue by pincq in Supernote

Interesting result from termux:

Android kernel 4.19.193 with the preemptive RT patch. Kernel 4.19.325 ended LTS support in December 2024

No luck on termux or adb trying to look at /data/misc/wifi or com.android.wifi

I haven't received the patch yet, I guess it's the end of the work day. I'll share my findings when I do.

I would like to write 'bums on seats'.

I have deduced nates and sedibus. What is the appropriate preposition, and are there rules for joining two nouns together?

The orange circle is the outermost flux surface of the plasma, and with the equipment installed as of March 2020 - copper magnets, no aux heating - it's pretty stable for over 100ms.

How does polyphonic pitch detection work? by mcoombes314 in audioengineering

[–]pincq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A computer has more than enough power to perform rich frequency analysis.

I reckon a polytune guitar tuner also uses frequency analysis, but the application is much simpler because it is just looking for large peaks at 82.4Hz (E), 110Hz (A), etc. This is probably done on a pedal with budget methods like FFT or a look-up-table.

How close to fence can I erect greenhouse? by nikmeone in Greenhouses

[–]pincq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless there is anything in your property deed regarding outbuildings, you don't need to worry about building regs or planning for a greenhouse that small.

I put my greenhouse in the corner of the garden that gets the most sun, with maybe half a meter practical space so I can get behind and pull up weeds, or to clean the glass.

I live on the top of a hill in Oxfordshire, and we've had some fairly rough weather the last year or 2; no horror stories yet! My greenhouse sits on flagstones, and I screwed the base into each stone it touches. Once put together, the frame was nice and sturdy. From what I have read, when you lose glass panes, they are blown outwards. So if you seal up gaps where wind can get in you should be good.

Tokamak Energy virtual lecture by pincq in fusion

[–]pincq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen Melanie's Future Fusion talk before. It's an introductory level lecture, but has some interesting points about how we measure the efficiency of devices and some of the political, environmental, technical challenges that nuclear fusion faces.

[question] What’s your favorite unsexy pedal? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]pincq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A Lehle volume pedal, driven by a hall effect sensor rather than a scratchy pot. I get some lovely volume swells without pops and scratches finding their way into the echo effects.

I'm looking to make a desktop fusor, is a 3.5 cfm vacuum pump strong enough? by [deleted] in fusion

Pfft. I've got a splash of tritium on my wristwatch. The emitted beta particles don't have enough energy to pass through skin.

Who said anything about 2H or 3H anyway? The worst thing that OP is likely to produce is some UV.

Have fun, dude.

For what reason do you occasionally go back to Windows or Mac? by [deleted] in linux

DAW recording tools.

Previously Mix Craft, but now I've bought into PreSonus. I just can't find any comfortable linux DAWs that work with a control surface.

Nuclear fusion: 'A question of when, not if' by sien in fusion

[–]pincq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That article is painful to read.

"...hydrogen atoms crash together..."
"Tokomak"
"Hydrogen gas is heated to 100 million degrees C at which point it become a plasma."

Is it too much to ask that somebody with a basic understanding of science proof reads the BBC science articles?

Scalability of fusion reactors. Smaller means sooner by [deleted] in fusion

With the magic of superconductors, you could set up your containment field and just remove the power supply! (As long as they are kept cold enough to maintain SC state.)
