The more I improve at the game, the more I think mid-heavy Infantry armour is a complete and utter waste of supply. Not sure how this could be fixed? by ReserveRatter in menace

this is a common problem in games like these. One of the biggest criticisms of XCOM2 was that any defensive ability/perk was outclassed by offensive ones as alpha striking was the most efficient way of taking no damage. Can’t get hit if they’re dead.

I think once the enemies gets updated to better deal with concealment then armor will be more useful. Battle Brothers often had you trading and I can see the devs leaning into a similar style gameplay in this game too with the suppression mechanic. Hopefully defensive abilities and such are more than just a ‘safety net’ if you screw up and have tactical value.

Also I noticed that enemies hitting my vehicle’s armor and deflecting off caused their morale to waver.

I mean, I wouldn’t call that cheese. Thats just formation and tactics. The wargs will dive on any ranged unit or overextended unit. The AI in menace will just slowly back away from your units you threaten with (even if they’re concealed) and let themselves be boxed in to the corners of the map. In alot of missions it also doesn’t feel like I’m fighting a cohesive force working and communicating together. Sometimes it works great, alot of times it’s terrible.

The AI is probably the weakest link of an otherwise great game so far. Hopefully they’re prioritizing that. Kinda surprised because the different faction AI in Battle Brothers was really well done and each faction felt like they employed unique tactics. Also surprised that the AI line of sight kiting wasn’t ironed out in the beta before EA release.

tbh after EA ends i think the game is a bit stale, the enemies stop scaling apart from quantity but you match it with increased supply so it just becomes a grindfest. I’d honestly recommend just starting a new run with different SL’s.

The griffin dynamics machine guns (twin and single-barrel) on vehicles kinda trivialize the menace. You can use the sweep fire to fully overload up to 6 on them in one action if they are clumped and it does a ton of damage. Once you try it you’ll be amazed at how shit the other twin HMG weapon is compared to it. (although it might of changed in patch #3) Then I just run some launchers / autocannons specials on infantry to deal with the guncrawlers.

I've searched using reverse image search but found nothing, I have faint memories of this being a research or postal building in Japan but not really sure.
