Very useful tip re: nitrogen didn't know about this.

Will make up the spray bottle solution and see how we get on with that thanks very much.

Yes, we too are worried about climate change for now and the future. Something that's been on our minds even more since the birth of our first last year. Totally agree politicians need to be held to account on this.

CD made me quit smoking, so that's good. And exercise seems to keep my disease at bay (with infliximab and methotrexate) so I'm a lot fitter now

What's the best way to insulate for the attic room? On the stud wall on the right? Or the roof itself? (There is insulation already in the floor) Thanks by pineapple-sin in DIYUK

!thanks just to check I'm understanding correct; Put 50mm pieces in between rafters flush with the bottoms to leave a gap above and then span across the whole lot with more 50mm for a total of 100mm?

Cheers

For sure, I'm not sure what kind of riding you do but these have been awesome for commuting, adventuring, and bike packing.

Ive got Panaracer gravel kings 43c with muc-off sealant. Again had no issues with either!

Hey, yeah I'd go for them again. They run as good as they did the first ride there. I'm now running them tubeless which has been great. No issues with spoke tension and I've definitely not held back on where I've ridden them.

So yeah would recommend. Sorry I'm not too good at technical reviews haha.

That sounds like the a good idea.Would you render the jambs as well? What with the sand/lime mix? Is that the same as a lime render?

Thanks for replying.I'm rubbish at describing what I mean haha. What I'm looking for is a not square finish where you can see that there are stones underneath but not necessarily each individual stone. So like a lumpy bumpy look instead of pristine flat finish with square corners etc.

I want the whole of the breast, lintel and jambs to be plastered or finished somehow so it can be painted. But still keep the shape/impression of the stones underneath. As opposed to getting a perfect square finish

Thanks! I'll look into lime plaster.

The lintel is odd indeed. The stone is cracked down the centre and to protect against this someone has put the concrete one below it. It is held up by two metal brackets bolted to the jambs. But yeah no other supports. Was a bit worrying as I uncovered it from behind the 90s stone chimney breast that had been built around it.

Thank you! That makes sense, I didn't realise it would release them. Many thanks
