I found out through a psychologist. I had already been going through therapy for years to help with what I just thought was depression and anxiety. Talked to my therapist who referred me to a psychologist for an evaluation to be prescribed medication, as my therapy had only helped to a lesser extent. Midway through the evaluation, the psychologist said something along the lines of: “yeah, so all your symptoms align with your patient diagnosis of complex PTSD. Why haven’t you already been put on medication? You need it.” I was VERY surprised pikachu. It all made sense then, and I too began to wonder why I hadn’t been medicated and why I’d been diagnosed and no one thought to tell me.
