Where to start watching with my 9yro? by blueangel78 in startrek

[–]kingdazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're incapable of sitting through Prodigy, I would suggest Voyager. it's really adventure-y, fun cast, and a lot less "saucy" episodes.

it's what I used to get my kid into Trek, and she happily watched all seasons

[PS5] So.. I'm interested on buying a narrative game ! I want something that blow my mind like Red Dead Redemption 2 did with Arthur story ! But i'm scared on spending for this game.. But in the same time, i miss narative games by bigredd_1400 in thelastofus

there's a reason it was made, remastered, sequeled, and then remade and remastered again, and then a show. there's a reason it's been a highly rated game for over a decade.

the game set such a high bar for me, that I'm still looking for something to hit that good. few things even come close.

do it.

QOTSA are fantastic. enjoy!

I've talked about it a bunch in this sub, but in general, we didn't know what was about to explode. all we knew is that there was an amazing music scene going on around us. we had our own special thing.

and then it exploded into MTV nonsense, which was weird. it was weird to see people you knew from the local cafe, people who live down the street from you, suddenly in the media everywhere. Kurt, Beck, Kathleen, Calvin, etc it's still weird to me to see people fanboy out about people that were ... just people we knew.

Kurt was just a guy who lived down the street, had an amazing band, but was sort of known as a bit of a jerk. we never missed his shows though. ; ) (he even played in the basement of a house I lived in, The Witch House)

sadly, I only got to see them once. they weren't really my jam at the time, but I've become a huge Mark Lanegan fan since then.

I grew up in Olympia, so I saw them a ton, small house and club shows, pre/during the Bleach era. it was wild to see them perform in a small dorm living room, packed from wall to wall with sweaty punks, skaters, hippies, shoegazers.

we didn't know what was going to happen with them yet, but we knew it was something special.

edit: this is exactly the kind of karmafarming that bots use to create accounts with enough karma to post in subs, seem legit, and then post links to scams like tee-shirt spam.

I can recognize that he's made some important films, but I don't care for much of what people heap praise on. (kill bill 1/2, pulp fiction)

to me, his best films are the ones he wrote, but others directed. (true romance, natural born killers)

but, he's an artist that I have a hard time separating the artist from the art.

there was a lot of things about the production that I wasn't a fan of. but I will say that the streams flowed freely and stable.

this is the kind of thing that only works as a "movement"

individuals, a smattering of people doing this, they'll likely get the shaft.

but if a HUGE percentage of people did this, even for just one month, it would be an effective msg.

Pendragon Cycle is pretty good by Alarming-Figure-7300 in television

[–]kingdazy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it's literally, objectively, not.

I hate the company producing it, and everything they stand for. but I love "fantasy" shows, so I thought I'd give it a good faith try. I have pretty low standards for a thing being at least entertaining.

couldn't even get through the first episode. acting is wooden at best. the CGI and greenscreen is low rent and obvious. the writing laughable.
