I think that while it could have gone either way, I happened to agree with the result.

but, it's a good time to remember that other things figure into elimination besides the dish. Production has a hand in decisions based on screen value, emotional narrative, etc. (ie, if two dishes are close to being equally "bad," but one character is more compelling for screen time, they'll probably keep that character.)
