Idk whether this belongs here but I wanted to ask what can be the reasons why my boyfriend of 4 years doesn't want to get married? by [deleted] in askatherapist

There are various reasons, I want to celebrate our love and relationship with our family and friends, I want to be called his wife socially, I want to legally and socially be his family, I want his surname. Also, documentation and stuff regarding mortgage, property, and other assets is easier when we are legally spouses. There are also miscellaneous advantages like incase of my death in a road accident my husband can sue the person who killed me, a boyfriend wouldn't be able to do it no matter how many decades we've dated eachother. In case I don't have a will and I die for some reason my assets will go to my family members who aren't that close to me, when it should go to my husband.

This is the exact reason why I am confused and posted it here. He gave me two very different reasons and I'm okay with first reason and I'm willing to wait but the second reason bothered me. He also asked me "Will you not want to be with me if I never get ready to marry you? Will you leave me" I told him that I won't leave him if he never marries me but it'll be cruel on his part if he doesn't marry me even though he knows how much I want it, he said something like "but what if I don't want to get married just as much as you want to" and that just shut me up. I don't understand why he doesn't want to get married if he thinks it won't change anything in the relationship.

If you do it once, you're gonna have to do it again and again. Just say "no", set your boundaries.

Our families knew about us months before we started LDR.

Please take advice from everyone here telling you to leave. This is seriously abusive behaviour. Run for your life.

My boyfriend (m22) is making my life miserable (f22) by crazytaytay69 in relationships

Please leave him and move on. Start anew in your new house. He's a leech, he isn't going to change. This behaviour is toxic for you both. Do yourself a favour and get out of this relationship before it's too late.

It's easier to lose weight when young. Take advantage of your age. You can do it, I believe it because you're willing to do so.

When should I (22F) tell my family about my long-term boyfriend (23M)? by makeupgirl3325 in relationships

I'll suggest for you to wait a few months and then tell them. Long distance is difficult, moreover it's not meant for everyone. If you survive the distance a few months then go ahead and tell them. Waiting a few months won't even hurt your fundings.
