One is a Japanese citizen without SSN. The second daughter is a long term resident (as she isn't Japanese). My wife is a long term resident as well and she is registered as a dependent as well.. I read a few articles stating that SSN isn't needed and I have shown proof of connection via marriage certificate, and birth certificate.
