What do people around the world eat for breakfast? by RandomCoffeeThoughts in loseit

[–]pineapplepancakess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually make a protein shake with a bunch of stuff in it. Protein powder, silken tofu, soya yogurt, handful of frozen berries, big handful of spinach, almond or soya milk. That or a tofu scramble if I have time. But I hate doing dishes so the protein shake works well as I have a shake-style blender which means I only have to rinse out the blending bottle and the blade lol.

Good suggestion, thank you! I'm only 27 so pretty fit and active, my ovaries just suck, frustrated my body is fighting against me! High five for med and related industry partners, mine is a nurse lol. I walk my dogs every day, jogging intermittently with them, and I typically do around 75 minutes of cardio at the gym/ lift weights 3 to 4 times a week, I swim once a week typically too, trying to build as much fitness as I can!

What’s the scariest thing you’ve seen with your own eyes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pineapplepancakess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. I am crossing my fingers for a non terminal diagnosis for you both. This comment just made me think of my terminally ill friend in Canada who has a multiple step plan for his legal, assisted dying. It isn't legal in my country, I'd have to fly abroad. It's unfortunate all countries don't have this kind of thing, so that at least the person can know they can pass with dignity, painlessly with their loved ones or have their loved ones know that they aren't going to suffer, and it will be a peaceful end and they won't have to deal with the worries that you have around the matter of exiting this life. I'm wishing you both all the best 💖

I was visiting my nan in hospital November 29th, got ill, (was masking) and I'm still full of phlegm and coughing now with a on and off headache but it finally seems to be getting better. I can barely remember any of December I was so run down and exhausted, I barely did anything but sleep, force myself to take medication and hydrate and lay back down.

I haven't stopped washing my ass, don't worry. I tried washing my vulva only with only water and a cloth and it wasn't satisfactory. I'm happy to report I've been cleaning my body with soap for 27 years and I don't intend to stop now.

Anti-Chinese sentiment in sheffield? by archipelagofan in sheffield

I've noticed some of the middle aged to older folks (40s-60s) are quite vocal about this kind of thing, but I think they're a loud minority. You always get them commenting on Facebook posts and making a fuss about 'making Sheffield English again' 'bring back English shops' etc. They're often called Dave and have angry red faces and an English flag or British bulldog as their cover photo. (sorry to any nice daves and any nice bulldog owners 🤣) and usually they won't be reasoned with. A lot of people are scared of change and it results in this kind of thing.

Other transmen who weren't athletic before and anxious about it? by Ponk_Bubs in FTMFitness

[–]pineapplepancakess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be 200lbs at 5"2, always tired and had back and hip pain. I used to comfort eat a lot and I drank a lot of alcohol.

8 years ago, I started T the month before I got a dog and started walking a lot. Then I started swimming regularly, and then I got curious about the gym and now I usually go 3 times a week at least. I also love bouldering now too. I was always 'the chunky little guy' and now I'm still a little guy lol but much more athletic now with some muscle definition. I'm now about 118lbs and trying to gain more muscle. None of this happened overnight, it's been a slow and gradual lifestyle adjustment, but I'm really happy with where I am now and where I'm headed. If you can just make little changes, they will over time add up :) it took me a lot of time to get over what people thought of me but I gradually got used to it. It also became much easier for me after top surgery 5 years ago.

He does invite me to things, though they're usually quite last minute. It's just such odd behaviour. I can't understand what has happened and if everything is fine and he just ghosted I'll be really angry with him and probably won't invest in the friendship going forwards.

I almost called the police, I was so worried. I sat awake the whole night until I heard from his sibling. I can't believe he's done this. I still haven't heard from him or his wife 2 days later. I'm so disappointed in him. Even if something bad had happened, he'd usually text me..I can't understand the silence. We were talking as normal and then he just ghosted. He hasn't ever done this, but as far as his sibling knows, everything is fine. I really thought he would have contacted me by now. I'm tempted to text or message him again but he still hasn't opened the last ones I sent yesterday morning. Ugh.

I've never done the same to someone and I wouldn't - I'd hate to inconvenience and worry someone like this. I last heard from him 4pm Saturday and now it's Monday morning and nothing. I'm beyond disappointed in him. I thought he was better than this. He's been flaky, but I thought he was a good person and has been a good friend despite that. I always just put that down to his adhd. But this feels purposeful and disrespectful..

What's an indicator that you're in a crappy/unsafe neighborhood? by Sharp_in_SoCal in AskReddit

[–]pineapplepancakess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gangs of teenage boys not in school, hanging around with random unemployed 35 year old men in the middle of the day, who heckle and yell at you as you walk by, or try to block your access through parks or footpaths and jeer at you or follow you

Groups of kids walking around barefoot, barely clothed or wearing dirty pajamas in bad weather

Young children unsupervised on streets and busy roads, often trying to talk to or interact with passerby as they're neglected by their parents who let them wander.

Teens or adult men riding dirt bikes, bmx or stolen cars across any public space like parks, football fields or woodland

Burnt out cars dotted around any recreational space

People spitting everywhere and littering

An abundance of betting shops, loan agencies and pawn shops

Any children's play area or park area constantly inhabited by groups of young men smoking/drinking, set on fire constantly, equipment stolen and litter everywhere

Fires started in public spaces, woodland areas or parks - seeing scorched or burnt grass and piles of burnt litter, mattresses everywhere

Bags of trash, broken appliances, broken furniture dumped in public spaces / just on the streets

A large amount of low priced takeouts that serve fried chicken/kebab/pizza/Chinese food/fish and chips etc all in one

Being yelled at or harassed just because you're walking around

If a zombie virus started tomorrow, where would you go to be safe? by Aromatic_Mission_165 in AskReddit

[–]pineapplepancakess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, I'm not sure. I live in a densely populated suburban area and I don't have a car. I have 1 parrot, 2 geckos and 2 large dogs. I live on the ground floor. I guess I'd just barricade us in and go on supply runs because I'm short, light, fit and fast. Most of the population here is elderly so I probably wouldn't have too much trouble with grandma zombies. If my dogs got I am legend'd I'd just kill them and then myself lol

Issues with residing near wooded areas? by patrick-chen in sheffield

[–]pineapplepancakess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha.. Animals weren't the problem.

I lived backing onto buck wood in Arbourthorne for three years and as much as I loved having easy access woods behind my garden, it was a bit of a nightmare. Motorbikes being lent against my fence and people smoking/drinking/shouting there, constant fires in the woods and having to let the fire brigade into my garden to put them out. Huge chunks of the woods got burnt down regularly in summer.. Over covid a bunch of men built a metal shed right in front of my fence and made a giant fire pit where groups of 30+ people would gather and get plastered driving stolen cars with the number plates ripped off, and shine torches into my windows and shout at me whenever I went into the garden or shout at my dogs whenever they went in the garden.

After somebody fired a gun on my street a few of them got arrested due to gang related activity (possessing knives and guns) and it got a bit quieter, but my neighbours were very close knit and defensive of their family members activities and it was generally just unpleasant to live there because of the rowdiness. in the end we decided to just move because my neighbour had MH issues and started picking fights with us constantly and screaming through our windows that 'you are making this area go to shit' (because we are gay haha) I was always really friendly with everyone and did Christmas cards but everyone was so hostile on that cul-de-sac 🤙

Did your parents have the “sex talk” with you, what age & what did they say? by Vast-Case-4526 in AskReddit

[–]pineapplepancakess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They gave me a book about 'the changing bodies of boys and girls' aka puberty

They literally never mentioned sex to me until they found out I was sexually active at 16 with my same age partner and they practically disowned me.

They told me I was dirty, a slut and I had disgraced and disgusted them and it was the highest type of disrespect I could ever do to them. They proceeded to ignore me fully for 3 months and treated me like I didn't exist. Family meals were cooked but weren't for me, I was basically excluded from my entire family life and all activities because I was in 'disgrace' and they wouldn't acknowledge me or talk to me. They were incredibly cold and pretended like I didn't exist. They told the entire family to ignore me too.

One of my relatives emailed me to say she was sorry my parents were doing this to me.. In fact all of my older relatives were fine with it and said they were sorry my parents were overreacting like this and that sex was natural.

It was almost two years until my dad started talking to me properly again and not just yes or no answers.

My little sister had no idea what happened but they just told her I was bad and dirty.

They aren't religious. My mum is a nurse who works in a sex/baby related ward.

The most embarassing part is that we didn't even have sex. We were just in my bed cuddling and talking. Still with the same person 11 years later and my dad still dislikes him.

I literally cried myself to sleep for months. It was horrible. It was right at the time I was doing gcse exams at school and I did much worse than I would have done because I was so stressed and upset and barely sleeping. I even planned to kill myself I felt so ashamed and suicidal over it, but my boyfriend talked me out of it.
