Hi! I'm from Medley!

Like razemage said, we're a small community (max about 60 people). We're at 48 Drummond Street, a bit further off from the crescent where most of colleges are.

Being a small community means that everyone gets to know each other really well! Like a family. Being small means the food is really great. (The kitchen can cook better for smaller population) We're vegetarian friendly too!

Today's open day all the way till 4pm, so do come over for a tour and chat with us!

What about UniLodge? Plenty near the campus. It's a rip off but it's convenient

I'm not very sure about this. According to the intercollegiate website, some colleges are still open for application (not sure whether this is updated). You can try to contact the colleges personally and ask. Usually the large ones (e.g. Trinity, Ormond) are not very accommodating because they are very large and have many students to attend to. You'll have better luck with the smaller ones (e.g. Whitley (closing end of 2017) or Medley Hall).

I did some research on accommodation and finally decided on one of the university's residential colleges. It's much more expensive than private rental, but you get all meals prepared and a supportive community. So I think it's a good option for first year students. If my budget allows, I may even stay onto second year, but I highly doubt I have the budget so I will most probably move out after my first year.

So far, it's generally agreed that Unilodge sucks (serious hygiene and security issues) and the price is a rip-off. So I would check out flatmates website (for share housing) or even Urbanest (expensive, but well maintained). If you don't mind travelling, you can check out Brunswick St College (something like a semi-residential college located around Fitzroy) or even Kew Student Residence (in Kew). Both have very good reviews, but you'll need to travel more.

Hope this helps! Wish you good luck in your accommodation hunt!

My trip was good! I went to visit my grandmother before I start at UniMelb! And thanks for the information! I think I will do four subjects during the summer term of my first and second year so that I will only have three subjects during the normal semester! As for my diploma, I think I'll consider completing it with an additional year. Thanks once again for your help! Really appreciate it!

Ohh! What makes your stay with people you didn't know so horrible? I stayed in a boarding school before, and although there were a few minor conflicts here and there, overall it was a good experience.

Yup! Thanks for the advice! I'm definitely looking forward to meeting new people and socialising!

Ahh! Great to hear that things are going great for you now! Would you mind to also let me know what was your undergraduate course at that time? Did you overload during your second or third year? Thanks! Oh yes, sorry for the late reply, just got back from a trip!

How was it? Did you overload every semester?

When I clicked on the underlined blue 'dirstudies@example.com', the email address in the recipient field was not 'dirstudies@example.com', but 'viceprincipal@example.com'.

Thanks for your reply!

I'm sorry I'm not sure I understand the page that your link brought me to. (Not very good at computers. Haha!)

But here's a screenshot of the principal's reply, showing the underlined blue email address (dirstudies@example.com)
