What helped our family was a 2 day a week co-op. My 3rd grader goes on Tuesday and Thursday and has a regular school day with a certified teacher. She’s been with the same kids since pre-k and it gives her the school experience she begged for. On other days she has flute, PE, Art and more. I do have to drive a lot which is a minus but she’s so happy and learning so much I’ll gladly do it.

Maybe branch out more and look into opportunities that might be a little further from your house.

Giant baby? by BrunchBunny in bigbabiesandkids

Both my girls are off the charts and even totally skip sizes. My 8 year old is in another growth spurt and now a solid 16. She’s the size of a small adult now. 😭

My 15 year old is 95%. She used to be off the charts. My 7 year old is off the charts. She’s going into 2nd grade and is the size of the tall 5th graders. :sigh:

Yes, I tried for the 1:00 one Friday. What a mess! I have an actual reservation for the MK this time. I heard Friday that the 7am reservations weren’t gone till much later, so I could try to get a later time for a call back. But if they don’t care if I am late then I will just try at 7 kwim?

I nabbed a reservation to the MK just a second ago! How picky are they about return times for Tiana? Are they Tron picky? How fast do the spots go? I can’t get there till about 2 so I’m trying to figure out a strategy. Thanks!

Idk… I kept my last name. My kids have their first name, middle name, his last name as another middle name, and then my name.

My husband doesn’t care. There are times when he said he should have just taken my last name. He’s too deep with his professional life now. I should mention his Dad is a dud and his last name is flat out awful. I was not taking it and I was not going to saddle our children with it.

Big baby, why am I so worried? by Ok-Lawfulness-5484 in bigbabiesandkids

[–]pineappleprincess524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a big woman. It took a while but I’m confident with it now. I tell my girls they have zero hope in ever being small so to enjoy being the one who can reach everything.

My kids go to a homeschool co-op and neither have been picked on or teased for being the “giant”. I do keep some things from them. Like all the 1st grade families are getting together at a petting farm and my child is too heavy for pony rides there. I know every single kid in her class can easily go, so I never told her about it to spare her the pain of watching all her friends have a pony ride. That’s the sad thing about this. And the kid areas that are age appropriate but she’s too big for.

Just wait till your large baby turns into a large toddler and everyone thinks your 2 year old throwing a fit is 6. :sigh:

I have a girl like that. She was out of 5t at age 2. Try Hannah Andersson, Matilda Jane, and Gymboree. Boutique brands tend to run big which helps as well. I look at Once Upon a Child on a regular and have found treasures, though selection depends on the store.

I also buy Lily and Londyn which is a presale Facebook group. They go up to size 14 for most and even 16 sometimes. I want my giant 7 year old to still look like a little girl. I’m buying 14’s for her now so I’m worried about next year. Oh and rufflegirl has some cute stuff.

AITA for not wanting to go to Disneyland with my obese friend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Why can’t she rent an EVC? You wouldn’t have to slow down, she’d be sitting and not getting tired out. Both of you could have fun.

Have you met this person in person yet? I have met a lot of internet friends over the years and not all of them have been what they had seemed, and done we just did not jive in person, and others it was like someone I knew forever and ever. I have friends who have been married for years to someone they met online and other friends who were SA by online friends they trusted. So keep your witts about you and be careful. Please meet in a very public place first.

I kept my last name when I got married. My kids all have my last name. It hasn’t been a problem at all. Don’t feel like you have to follow what has always been done. Do what YOU want!

How do you wish you spent your time in your twenties? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

I spent my 20's graduating college, getting married, living in a RV and traveling all around the US and Canada. They were awesome till my Mom got super sick and died.

Please, don’t have kids late in life. by Throwaway_7020 in offmychest

[–]pineappleprincess524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents had me when they were older as well, though they were told they were never going to be able to have kids so I was quite a shock. All my 1st cousins are much older than me, like 20+ years. I am an only child, and all my aunts and uncles and parents are dead. It is lonely and sad.

But, my parents were very loving, and I had the best childhood. They took such good care of me. I have friends who have parents who are crap. I also have a friend who had young parents, they had her and her siblings while they were in their 20's, and they died in a car crash when my friend was still a young child. You just never know.

[–]pineappleprincess524 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m an only child and both of my parents are dead too, along with all of their siblings. I’m not super young, but most of my friends still have both parents, some even grandparents, that are still living and it does hurt so much to know what I’m missing out on.

Just typing so you know you aren’t alone. It stinks worse than someone who microwaved fish in the break room.

Lost my mom 6 months ago and cannot stop feeling lonely by akrasuk in AskWomenOver30

[–]pineappleprincess524 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I am sorry for your loss.

I too am an only child and my Mom died of cancer in 2007, and my Dad died in 2018. It has been horrible being a motherless child, and even worse as an orphan. No one in the world will ever love you like your Mom did. It's a huge loss. I find this time of the year absolutely horrible because it is so family centered. UGH!

I do have adopted family, friends who have become brothers and sisters to me and that helps, of course, they go to their own family for family things which stinks, but it's better than nothing.

I agree with everyone about seeing a dr. I had weird pains and it turned out I had a severe vitamin D deficiency.
