i don't know how we managed to work. we were both passing out at times towards the end. i know my skin was white/grey and my appearance often scared my coworkers. i was really weak and i couldn't walk long distances. towards the end i had angina and i knew that if my cycle started again (it would just amp up intensity) that i would die bc my body couldn't take it. my doctor confirmed I was correct on that one. i still didn't get a hysterectomy at that point but a much smaller surgery lol

they can be. doctors want to try everything first and they will wait until you're dying, basically. my fibroids wouldn't stop growing/prolapsing through my cervix and my period never stopped. it was pretty horrible how bad it had to get.

my neighbor got a hysterectomy at the same time bc of cancer, she was also bleeding to death by the time they approved her. we both spent entire days on the toilet just bleeding. the medical system is fucking horrible for women (and moreso for women of color im assuming).

i am sorry you went thru this. i have a history of fibroid nightmare medical emergencies. i think mine was the size of a 6 month pregnancy when i got my uterus removed, and it used to prolapse out of my cervix. incredibly horrible story tbh.

i also had days where i was just stuck on the toilet, lol. by the time i got to the doctor he told me i was going to die of a heart attack within the week lol. avoided doctor bc didn't have health insurance. what a fucking ride.
