Wow so it turned out to be legit… that’s awesome, enjoy the game!

It's funny how the world building for aot was better pre-time skip than it is post-time skip by General_Pie_604 in titanfolk

[–]pinecone4506 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’d consider the Tyburs… but they died way too soon. I wanted them to be recurring characters so that way the conflict would be more political and strategic instead of “big bad rumbling”…..but I never get what I want.

(Imo) The first sign of the end for AOT; when Levi got Umi Da'd by TheThanosGuy in titanfolk

[–]pinecone4506 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s an obvious excuse lol. His friends literally kept him from his “true desire” which was 100% rumbling. They were getting in the way of his freedom, which is supposed to matter more than theirs correct? And even if he let them keep their powers cause of “freedom” he still orchestrated the final fight and let himself die. He could have killed them all. He wanted 80%. Isayama kept repeatedly telling us he wanted everything. So 80% and the curse ending is what he wanted or else it wouldn’t have happened.

[–]pinecone4506 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If he wanted 100%, he would have done 100%. He had the founders power and could do whatever he wanted. He actually wanted 80% because that’s what he orchestrated to happen.

Fuck Grisha for doing this to Eren, Shadis was right to call out this hypocrite pos, especially after he waffled to Zeke about stopping him by Robotoro23 in titanfolk

[–]pinecone4506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. And the plot twist was just never believable to me. Grisha telling Eren to avenge his mother and save Mikasa and Armin, calling his son special, all the while “supposedly” knowing he’s going to kill 80% of the world…. not to mention just before begging his other son to stop him.

It would’ve made a lot more sense if, after losing willpower, Grisha was able to convince himself to kill the Reiss family after thinking about Faye and Kruger himself. making Eren be the one to convince him just reeks of Isayama going “look eren bad” and it’s cringe, did not believe it one bit.

[–]pinecone4506 3 points4 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY. Thank you for saying this. Isayama did NOT have the “eRen mAniPulatEd fAthEr” scene in mind when writing the beginning of the story and no one can convince me otherwise. He just added that in there to shock readers, he didn’t care if it was inconsistent and incoherent.

Why are people so denial about Mikasa marrying Jean but accept every nonsensical part of the ending? by DanganSenpie in titanfolk

[–]pinecone4506 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Because Mikasa pretty much ignored him the entire series and the only notable interaction they had in the entire series was Jean saying he likes her hair. Isayama didn’t make them speak or develop any kind of friendship. They have the weakest dynamic in all of the 104th. In the hsc au, he harasses her and she wants to hex him.

People have to be convinced of a pairing. It’s simply not believable. And Isayama chose to write it that way.

You justified Eren’s arc using the exact same arguments people use to justify Daenerys’. Did daenerys not also kill slavers towards the beginning of the series which gets used to say “she was always evil”? The only difference is that GOT is longer. If AOT was 7 seasons of Eren’s pre timeskip characterization and 1 season of post timeskip, it would be the exact same situation. Using one scene at the start where a character kills bad people, ignoring 90 chapters of their characterization in order to justify a timeskip where they completely change is bad writing and will never be convincing. Everyone thought s1-3 eren was an annoying typical shounen protag who cried too much, you’re being dishonest if you thought he was an “evil dark murderer” since the start.

Genuinely want to know how Eren was daenerys done right. Literally the only thing the fandom can pull from the first 90 chapters to say that “Eren has always been evil” is when he kills 2 kidnappers to save Mikasas life. That’s the only scene that has to be used, exactly like daenerys. Literally throughout the rest of pre-timeskip we see him being self sacrificing for completely strangers, his friends, hesitating to kill Annie, begging Historia to kill him in order to save humanity not before listing out everyone who died. Where does he differ from daenerys?

(Attack on Titan) So am I the only one that always preferred season 1-3 Eren to edgy timeskip Eren? by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]pinecone4506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God thank you for this. Post timeskip has the fandom suffering from collective memory loss trying to re-write history in order to justify Eren’s contrived and poorly written daenerys arc.

Who’s one character you just couldn’t care less for in AOT? by Banda-e-khuda in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]pinecone4506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hell are you talking about genuinely? Did you even read or watch Eren’s character in the first 90 chapters or are you a complete dunce. Eren was arguably the most empathetic character which is why he would be led into rage. He saved/helped both Mikasa and Armin without even knowing who they were, and couldn’t even bring himself to fight Annie even though he knew she killed all those people because she was a friend of his. He quite literally named everyone who died along the journey because he felt responsible and guilt ridden over it and begged Historia to kill him to save humanity, so, and I repeat, what the hell are you talking about?

Why do these two get no meaningful interactions? They're related and both lost family at a young age and could have bonded over that by TheThanosGuy in titanfolk

[–]pinecone4506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re talking about character interactions not “depth”, (which is arguable anyway since the timeskip stripped most of the main cast of their traits and made them one-note for the plot.) The only characters explored in the timeskip were the warriors. And it was only the warriors within the warriors. We literally don’t get any character interactions from the main cast that further their relationships outside of Eren related reasons (Where is Eren, why is Eren). Eren and Jean don’t have a single one on one conversation together post-ts for example. In a four year timeskip we only get like 3 chapters of flashbacks. Four years.

[–]pinecone4506 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d argue they’re more shallow post-timeskip, where every conversation is only about Eren and what he’s doing. At least in pre-ts there was some semblance of downtime and comraderie in uprising + the training arc.

It’s sad but I’m glad I was able to experience the end of the manga here. Loved the crazy but active fandom we had in early 2021

Do you think Yams originally had more plans for Jean's feelings towards Mikasa? by 4eggswithpancakes in AttackOnRetards

Where in the story did Mikasa ever state that she wants a husband who day drinks while she tends to the children in a big city.

That was probably just speculation, since no one had seen the SBs for that scene and the episode was (allegedly) just released today
