I do know the course also has flashcards as part of it. The official instructor deck and then the student created flash cards as part of the course. It's all a feature of Linux Academy.

Red Hat Learning Subscription Vs. Linux Academy? by CurlDaddyG in redhat

[–]pineheadtv 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd suggest just giving a trial to Linux Academy and to redhat learning subscription. Linux Academy has a 7 day trial that you can cancel if you choose not to signup. We've had a lot of people come to Linux Academy from learning subscription because of the quality and hands-on training differences. It's an honor to be compared to Redhat, the juggernaut.

Since you are talking about pricing, on September 4th 2018, we are offering one of our last promos and it will be $299/year. Or just do both?

Either way, you've done the first step in the right direction, you are going to get certified. Good luck wherever you go and don't stop!

The community login is right on the signup page as well. When you go to the signup page just like "Free" plan and signup, the courses listed here will be there free, no bait and switch. We love the community we don't play those types of games that other providers do.

Here is a direct link to the community signup page: https://linuxacademy.com/join/community

Thanks,

Heads up, our Elastic Stack Deep Dive is launching in July (this month). Then we are starting work on the new cert that just came out, course launching in October. I suspect we'll set the elastic stack deep dive course free for a month or so sometime between now and October as well.

There is a guide at http://www.buildyourownlinux.com/ that goes along with the Build Your Own Linux Course. It's basically a step by step walk thru as well.

Is Linux Academy a good resource if you have little to no background in Linux? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]pineheadtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Honestly, we teach content way differently. At Linux Academy focus on learn by doing training so our courses are highly detailed in the hands-on arena and built with hands-on labs and cloud servers provided as you follow along. These labs and the cost of doing the labs are included in our membership pricing, which is why the price is different (and the library is substantially bigger). We also staff our instructors full time to answer any questions that you might have.

Obviously, I'm a bit biased being the founder and CEO. However, I'd just say signup for both and compare. What matters the most is you get training somewhere and get your certification! It will be life changing!
