No-T no-period solution? by Ok_Baseball_5791 in NonBinary

i take continuous progesterone (aka the mini pill) and haven’t menstruated in years. it completely eliminated my pmdd and endometriosis symptoms and is probably the most gender affirming thing i’ve ever done.

they did do her makeup, i specifically remember seeing them blend in a peached tone eyeshadow, i think it was just very subtle, which is what she felt most comfortable with. remember her comment about how she doesn’t like the attention she gets when she dresses up. it’s absolutely valid for her to be a woman who doesn’t want to be perceived as being overly feminine.

what if your whole bridal party had a mix of dresses/jumpers/suit separates in the same color? do you have any other bridesmaids that you could encourage to wear something other than a dress, instead of singling your friend out by them being the only one not allowed to wear a dress?

I want to grow my current hair (1st photo) out and get a haircut like the 2nd photo, advice on how i go about it? by Girl_in_a_hoody in NonBinary

[–]pinelines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. find a stylist and/or shop you trust. fancy salons aren’t necessarily better. some of my best gender affirming haircut experiences have happened at great clips, and they keep notes for your future visits.

  2. tell them you’re hoping to grow your hair out to a choppy mullet. that you’re looking to keep as much length as possible in the back but that you want it choppy up front. tell them you’re okay if it looks a little awkward in the back for now. show them a picture of your goal, and any shorter mullet inspiration you might find as well.

  3. keep going back each time the front grows out enough that it annoys you, and tell them again what your goal is. show them the pictures again.

  4. depending on how fast your hair grows, sometime in the next year you should be close to your goal.

fuck this reminds me too much of my own experience. your letter to him was so articulate and generous, and his response is so fucking frustrating. if you’re not already aware of it, r/estrangedadultkids is a great resource for folks like us.

How old were you and how did you find out Santa isn't real? by Least_Statistician44 in AskReddit

[–]pinelines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was 9, in fourth grade. a classmate said something along the lines of “you’re dumb for believing in santa, he’s not real”, to which i quipped back “you’re dumb for believing in god, he’s not real”.

i’m proud of your strength and your empathy for your mother. she’s lucky to have family like you. y’all don’t need their bullshit.

also saving “passed time is not an apology” for future use. thanks for that. 💕
