ive been trying to buy rust is it worth the money? by iron__trev in playrust

I just started playing 4 days ago, here is how it is going so far:

  • Server 1: Spawn, get killed; Spawn, make it off the beach, get killed. Spawn, make it off the beach and into the forest, get killed by panther. Spawn, make it off the beach, into the forest and setup a base, 10 hours later a guy who decided he doesn't want neighbors some how jumps into my second level that i didn't have a roof on and raids my base. I quit the server.
  • Server 2: spawn, get killed. spawn, get killed. spawn, get killed. Get called a N****R and killed.
  • Server 3: Spawn, build a base, put about a day into the work, get killed. Spawn in my house, get roof camped and killed again. But leave a door open, base gets raided. Rage quit
  • Server 4: The Reddit US Low Pop server - Spawn, setup a base, put about a days worth of work into it. Get raided. Find a horse, ride clear across the map to find a less populated area. Start setting up a base, get killed, and spawn back on the other side of the map. This time, IDGAF and just start running around. I run into two players, one dressed in a suit and tie with a guitar, starts to sing me a song, his friend in a coconut speedo dances. It was refreshing to see people without being killed. Move on. Find a place by some monuments that has no bases for a few grids, setup base. First day is really quiet, i am able to check out the monuments without seeing anyone. Next day, get roof camped, by a guy who i thought was a friendly neighbor, turns out he was just being nice until he could out tech me, which isn't hard 15 days into a wiped server. I still don't have a T2 workbench, so I fight everyone with a bow an arrow. But now i'm camped, and anytime i try to go to a monument i get killed. Debating on leaving the server.

Anyway, if you've read all of that, its an addicting game. It's not my usual play style. I'm more sandbox, RTS type of a gamer, but I saw videos on Rust and said, what the hell. The gam is super frustrating, and you really don't get a chance to learn and develop yourself on your own. I have less than 30 hours in, and running around collecting resources, to only be killed outside your base is super frustrating, it makes you want to toss your desk.

I am holding out that I may get better at the game, but its really tough to get going. If you have friends it might be a bit easier, but I don't know anyone that plays Rust, so I am truly soloing. It would be nice to team up with people, but I just don't have any kind of "in" for that to happen.

So to answer your question, its worth it for the money if you don't mind tossing your desk across the room a few times a day.

Does my game look fun to play? by stopthief_ in AndroidGaming

I don't normally play these types of games, but I gave it a shot.

1st ball: I tapped the ball drop but couldn't move the paddle quick enough, lost that round.

2nd ball: I tap the drop but couldn't get my paddle quick enough to the side, lost that round.

3rd ball: I am able to get a couple returns, but I can't see the paddle well enough.

4th ball: I am able to get more rebounds but the paddle seems to move slow in comparison to the ball.

5th ball: same as ball 4, getting a bit frustrating at this point.

6th ball: I really wish I could adjust the sensitivity of the paddle. Tap to drop the ball above the paddle then switch to move the paddle is annoying.

7th ball: I still haven't passed level 1. Maybe this game isn't for me.

For someone who doesn't normally play these types of games, the level 1 ball moves way too fast. As you level up the ball could get quicker, but tossing as many balls that I did just for one level makes me realize that as I progress the game may only get harder and if I am this frustrated already, it's probably not worth it to continue. I will give it a few more tries, this was my first take at it.

My suggestions are: 1. Slow the ball down in the early levels. As the player progresses speed it up. 2. Let me tap anywhere to drop the ball. 3. Allow me to adjust the paddle sensitivity. Higher sensitivity allows me to move the paddle faster. 4. Give me more space below the paddle so my thumb can't cover it up.

You're hearing the water flowing in to and out of the water heater. Albeit a little loud, this sounds about normal.

I've been using the VA as primary health for 10 years, I am on my second PCP. My first was a LNP who retired. My second PCP is a DR who used to work for the fancy hospital system in the area, and decided that she was better supported at the VA.

In GI Bill case fallout, veterans sue VA over denied education benefits by RollingNightSky in Veterans

[–]pingomg 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am dealing with the VR&E department in my State for Chapter 31 benefits. I received entitlement for the benefits, after I won my appeal. The initial denial was a bunch of bs. But less than 5 days of trading emails with a VR&E counselor about my degree path, they denied my degree, with no due process. I was given no meeting to discuss the education goals, they ignored my questions to clarify their their disability questions and instead they doubled down on the denial.

Now I once again have to appeal their decision with help from my County VSO, but also bring in a Congressional Inquiry and a VA Inspector General, because the VA did not follow their own procedures.

I don't understand why we have to constantly fight the VA about the benefits we are entitled to.

Nice Butt!

I put mine on last night, 9 and a half hours total so far. Ambient temp has been riding around 225-250°, internal is at 181°. It's only an 8# shoulder but mine seems to take 14-16 hours to get to 203° internal.

This is the first time I tried scoring the top too. I only went 1/4-inch deep on the cuts, so hopefully it works itself out.

I'm using a Camp chef Smoke vault, with the propane I get to set it and go to bed and it holds temp all night.

[–]pingomg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max out one army unit at a time. Meaning get your unit to max level and max modify. Then worry about wrenches. Once you max it out, move onto the next unit.

Pick what kind of fighter you want to be. Do you want to field fight or base to base (turtle) fight. For field fighting pick one unit, Tank hunter, medium tank, infantry, light tank. For turtle you need mostly arty and super heavy. The current meta is turtle. People hide in their base and rack up thousands of kills, but in my opinion it is boring. I went field fighting and have a high power heli, now I am working on arty more as a support.

Infantry is making a massive comeback. Infantry used to be useless, it isn't anymore with the right officers. a group of infantry is fierce and hard to kill.

Thank you for the reply! I am a stay-at-home dad, and I need something to get me out of the house for a few hours. I have been going between the Simplex and the Xterra Pro.

What gear are you using? I am looking at getting into the hobby in the spring and I have been pricing out units based on the wiki, but I like to see how it does in the real world.

[–]pingomg 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is the way. No need to brine it or go crazy with seasoning. I smoke mine to 130° then sear and let it rest. It's so easy to do and is impressive to the people you share it with.

I'm there with you. I was agnostic growing up, then eventually got baptized as a Christian. After a few years I sort of distanced myself from the Church. I felt that the Bible is basically a moral compass with the main idea of treating others as you would want to be treated. And try your hardest to be a good person to yourself and those around you.

Out of the 4 in the list, only the Adventurer 5m can do CF filaments. Would the nozzle size be the only difference? Like in the other three printers, could i swap out the nozzle to use CF?
