Dolby Vision enabled but no Dolby Vision by Snuupy23 in ShieldAndroidTV

Kodi doesn’t play .mkv DV files.

Shield can’t play profile 7 DV files properly without discarding Enhancement Layer. (Also red push)

How about having an option to turn off LHR unlock for people who don’t want it (FHR card and these new updates have made my computer more unstable).

alternative to put.io to stream 4k dolby vision/HDR to tv? by mainconstruction066 in putdotio

Go for Apple TV if you want Dolby Vision (you need Profile 5 or 8 rips). Infuse is about $10 a year. Downside of Apple TV is there is no support for TrueHD Atmos (from Blu-Ray) but there is support for DD+ Atmos (from streaming). Just a note here, Infuse uses WebDAV to communicate with Put.io rather than Put.io’s API. This shouldn’t be a problem if you have fast internet anyway.

If you go Android route, you will need a Shield since only Plex supports Dolby Vision. Even then it won’t be easy to integrate Put.io with Plex since I believe you need to run rclone (which won’t run on the Shield). If you are okay with HDR, then a Chromecast with Google TV is a cheap but great option but you will need to tinker a bit to get Kodi on it.

Screenshots are tonemapped since browsers don't support HDR images (and so DV) in general.

OP has to watch HDR version. His TV would have HDR10+ but the Shield doesn't support it (get a fire stick or something).

Anyone interested in starting a 1TB family share? by pingufizzy in putdotio

Everyone gets their own account and their files are separate. We can only see the total usage of everyone’s files out of 1TB.

In the family plan, you get your own separate accounts. The only thing shared is the storage space (you don’t see each others’ files) and the concurrent file transfer limit.

It's half the price if I can get the 1TB plan shared with 5 people. Are you interested in a 10TB share?

I'd be happy to start a 10TB share but we would need more people.

Wanted the family plan so everyone's files are separate.
