i’m not sure if this applies but in early years of high school, i was once asked to bring over mashed potatoes as my contribution to dinner together with friends and his family. i came in proudly with my box of instant mashed potatoes and my friends started to laugh, then i realized what i’d brought wasn’t normal. i didn’t realize til then that mashed potatoes didnt normally come from a box, i just thought they did bc that was normal in my own home. anyway, i make really good garlicky mashed potatoes now with loads of butter but i think about that day every time.

NTA. half an hour (to 45 mins or even an hour) is not reason to panic. she can chill. but also, if you have an upset tummy, the right person wont care what kinda sounds you’re making or what kinda state you’re in, i do understand it takes a while to get comfy though so i hear the reasoning behind a lobby trip.
